We can win this if we turn up and start at a high tempo like we did against Man ure and against Bayern a coupe of seasons ago where we Ozil missed the pel. However, we look like a pub team in the CL this season and Bayern are no pushovers, they will come with a lorry load of confidence and quality.

In an ideal scenario, id rest the big boys and forget about the CL this season, we are not going to qualify, if we do qualify, we'll flop at the first hurdle. We also dont want to play in the Europa league and in this case finishing bottom is better than 3rd.

If Robben is playing then I hope Coquelin two-foots him into the face and snaps his neck then whips his dick out and pisses on his corpse.

I read somewhere that Robben and Ribery would both be back for this game.

Not overly bothered about this anymore but a big win would be nice though. It's been a while since we beat one of the elite teams in the CL.

We need to put our best team out and go for this and I think we will.

You can't effectively throw two high profile games against opponents of this calibre and expect it not to have an impact on the rest of the season.

If we get a pelanty, don't let Özil take it.

I could rest a little bit Ozil and Sanchez and we have of course to put pace into this game and play against a big team, but we know we have proved ourselves in the Champions League. We want to make something special against Bayern Munich as it is the only way we can keep in the race.

If he rests either of those two players (or Cech) the guy is an absolute fool. Hopefully he is just trying to place some doubt in Bayern's set-up for this game.

Whether we have lost our first two games, face an extremely difficult job of getting the required 4 points minimum from these two games and most likely won't win the CL isn't the point here. Ozil, Cech and Alexis didn't come here to sit out games against the best teams in Europe. They didn't come here thinking we are a club that throws in the towel at ANY point in the CL. If (and it is still an if) either of those three players are 'rested' Wenger is making life extremely difficult for himself. It would create the worst type of image about where we see ourselves as a club to any other target of substance we approach in the near future. It would put the whole focus of the season onto the league, meaning anything but winning it will see Wenger vilified from every angle.

Now of course, a team without one or two of those players might do the inconceivable and turn over Bayern at our place, but the likelihood of doing that is a lot smaller and if the gamble didn't pay off, the damage a lot greater than just our best eleven losing one game.

The campaign has been embarrassing enough, we need to play the best team we can and at the very least give ourselves a fighting chance of going through.

Then there is also the prospect of the Europa League and whether it's worth qualifying for that...

Added to the fact it will probably be our highest profile game of the season at the Emirates and one that doesn't come cheap for fans. Two games against Bayern was the only exciting thing to come from our group draw, so to undermine ourselves and stick two fingers up at excited fans wanting to see us pitted against the best around would take the piss.

As for the Europa League, the format is crap but it's something we shouldn't look down our noses at. A few years back we would've been happy beating Brum to win the League Cup. A Europa is certainly more distinguishable than the FA Cup in the modern game. Some very good teams have won the trophy over the years and Chelsea didn't look too depressed when they won it recently. Added to the fact we haven't won a thing in Europe for 20 years and our overall history is pretty poor there. That has to change if the club want to be taken seriously as an 'elite' club. I don't think a Thurs/Sun split is any different to a Weds/Sat game and I think there is only one more round of games than the CL. Wenger hasn't won a thing in Europe and should value this competition. If he puts out a weaker team against Bayern and we do end up in the Europa, then I think it's safe to say he won't.

What's the criteria for qualifying for the Europa League? We have to avoid this at all costs. We can kiss our season goodbye if we end up in that joke of a tournament. Thursday night trips to Timbuktu, we'll be fucked.

Finishing third in the group puts us into the Europa.

None of the permutations look good for us. Only way out is to beat Bayern. Therefore only option is to pick the strongest team. If he picks Ospina again then fuck that shit.

We are playing with confidence, so this could go one of two ways... we can go out blitz them like we did United or Bayern school us and we are all glum again. I actually think we are going to going win this. Wenger always gets win when it absolutely matters achieving the bare minimum. 2-1 Sanchez double.

For the sake of sanity, we need to lose this. Anything other than last place in the group is a shot in the heart for us. Just get this bothersome tournament out of the way and make a decent push for the league title. My only hope is that we dont get humiliated in the games.

I don't see why we are so snooty about the Wafer cup..... I know it takes about 38 games to win it but I think we are banking on winning the league a little too much and we have only got near winning the CL once in near enough 20 years.

Take the games seriously and let the chips drop where they may. If we end up in the avoidatallcosts cup, then that is our level. Moreover we've never won it and it give us a place back in the nevergoingtowinit cup if we do.

Theo they might be. I remember Barca being pretty worried about his pace years back. It all depends on what Theo shows up - not just in terms of work ethic but competency wise. It's all well and good scaring their back line with speed but if his control has gone to shit or if his aim is off, then we'll just waste prime chances you can't afford to against this sort of opposition.

This one is a write off for me. Bayern are levels above anything in PL and from what I have seen of them this season are the best team in Europe/CL by quite some distance.

Think we'll get convincingly beaten 2-0.

Yep, that's my thoughts too, they will cut through us like a knife through butter. The whole back 4, Cech and Le Coq need to be playing out of their skins if we are going to get anything out of this.

Up until three years ago we actually had good champions league record at the Emirates, only lost one game in first six seasons there.
Now we've lost six out of last thirteen games at home and it's actually our away form (dynamo Zagreb aside) that's improved.

Really don't expect anything from tonight's game, Bayern are my tip to be Champions League winners....and putting ourselves in a position where we have to win means they will pick us off on the counter.
