Jose will be relishing sticking the boot in one last time :(
Jose is a greasy cockgobbler
And he will stick the boot in as we will have to rest players. This is not going to be pretty.
Can we just forfeit this one? It’s going to be a waste of everyone’s time.
If we rest our players any more this season they will develop deep vein thrombosis. There's no more resting. These pampered, overpaid and underworked bunnies need to be out there trying to defend what little honour Wenger has left the club with - I'm sure there's some knocking around somewhere that he hasn't shit on yet.
If we send out another random team to get arse fucked in public against what used to be our major rival for titles then let that be Wenger's enduring legacy. The man who was so past it he couldn't even put up the pretence of a fight.
A long way from Vieira snarling in the tunnel, aren't we?
Even if it is the first choice 11 that play, we know they won't be feeling competitive enough to give it a go with their minds on the second leg.
It would be a miracle if we got a draw.
What would a win in this one mean anyway, really?
It cements 6th place.
yay
Protect our better players for next Thursday, we're still in the tie, that's the clear priority.
We haven’t taken 3 points at Old Trafford since September 2006.
Plus it would annoy Mourinho losing his final game against Wenger.
In the context of could we finish 6th or 7th: Meh.
In the context of could we finish 1st or 2nd: :patrice:
It's a pretty obvious difference.
The fact that the question is whether we finish 6th or 7th is, of course, pretty damning.
But we are where we are and in the context of where we are: finishing outside the European places BUT in the midst of a semi-final in the EL with, Kos brainfart or not, we are still in, the priority is clear.
If you want to be in there trying to finish 1st rather than 2nd you must first have a winning mentality. We don't. That's why we are competing for 6th or 7th.
At some point that has to change or we won't be competing for 1st again.
It's a football match. It's a competitive sport. We are supposedly a top team. We have highly paid, supposedly professional players and a manager that gets paid a fortune to do what? Compete? Or chuck it because there's something else we'd rather be doing?
What does a hammering at OT give us in terms of momentum, belief, pride? Or aren't those things worth the risk of losing a player to injury or making the little lambs tired?
Yeah, let's chuck it and then drag our feet-up, refreshed arses over to Spain. Because all the resting did us a lot of good last night, didn't it? I'd much rather have gone into that game with a team that has battled together all season through thick and thin and clawed for every point - blood, guts, injuries, suspensions and all the rest that is part and parcel of the game.
Instead we have part-timers turning up for the glamour events in the hope of remembering what they do for a living.
It's a cowardly, losing way to go about things. It's What Wenger has bred into the club.
Resting players in between the two legs of a two leg tie is what every manager would do.
I don't want us to "chuck" it, and I don't want us to get hammered.
But the Utd game is not a "must win" game like it would have been back in the day when we were chasing titles.
I'll be disappointed if Wenger puts out "the kids" and we get a walloping, if it rests a few key players or puts them on the bench then fine, I think pretty much any manager would do that in these circumstances.
Alexis Sanchez.
The only motivation needed to win this. You know he will relish putting us to the sword.
this game is like last year with roles reversed where united had to rest players for the Europa and didn't give a monkeys and we spanked them.
on the plus side United are still capable of one of those stroll round the pitch performances. they did lose at home to west brom not long ago. Also they only have the FA cup to play for and make take it easy because of that.
it could be a really dull game.
Oh yeah. That's true about the FA Cup. They've not got much to play for in the league, nor have we.
Could be a bit of a nothing game all round.
Fuck this shit.
Auba best not be on the fucking bench for this :sulk:
agree with all of that - my fear is Wenger will do something daft like playing Laca instead of Auba like he did in the W Ham game - one of the stupidest most illogical things I've ever seen and it may actually have had an effect on his, Monreal's and Bellerin's fitness at the end of the game
Will probably lose this, we have nothing to play for, they always beat us at OT and we have a huge game on Thursday so I’m going for a 3-0 loss.
Apparently we have taken a squad predominately made up of reserves. Auba, Bellerin, Welbz and Cech are the only senior players thought to have travelled.
Wenger trying to top the 8-2.
I think I'll watch this game from behind the sofa.
None whatsoever, ever. It's another psychological problem Wenger has created for himself and the players. We can't play 2 games a week. The fixture schedule is against us. We are tried. He literally tells the players these things before we go into big games. He's like a professional demotivation coach.

Mavropanos gets chucked in to Man Utd away? :haha:
Hopefully Laca is just being completely rested as a precaution. Good luck to the new lad, hell of a test for your debut.
If we tonked that'll destroy his confidence and career
Wenger getting one over Mislintat and going out with a bang
