Shearer
Given the teams on our side of the draw there is a chance we could stumble our way through to the final, but Tuesday night showed we are just as capable of fluffing our lines. We were the better team but it could have gone a different way.
That said, I have spent much of today humming Three Lions to myself and am, despite my better judgement, falling into the trap of believing we could get to the final, if not win the thing.
Not sure I could cope with watching England in a World Cup Final
I'm going to see Paul Simon in Hyde Park that evening so a day of:
Watching England winning the World Cup and then Paul Simon would be unbelievably brilliant.
Losing the World Cup final though would just put me in a bad mood for the latter.
Easiest all round if we're not in it at all, but obviously I still hope we are.
FFS Letters you simpleton ..... Maccy's made all the match threads so far and he's been good luck.
Then you go ahead and make this one several days and screw us over.
We know who to blame when England crash out now.
#Niall_Quinn was right.
:(
:getcoat:
I haven't even added the date in the thread title.
Me :pal:
Can’t see how this is going to be anything other than a pub fest.
0-1 England. Just.
Next up.
I think we might get out-pubbed by Sweden
Sweden are as obdurate as it gets so there is a decent chance of that.
Cometh the hour and all that. We could lose this, but we could also win it. Will we go forth in glory or come home with a tag of glorious failure?
We need Sterling, Kane and Lingard to step it up a bit, well a lot. Despite being leading goal scorer (How many penalties?) Kane has not really produced as much as he can, time to play a captain's game. Sterling runs around like a headless chuck and misses too many chances, Rashford blew his claim to start v Belgium. Anyway
COME ON ENGLAND!!!!
It's Welbeck's time.
He could come on as a sub today given I don't think Vardy will be there.
I reckon it will be 2-1.
Not sure which way though.
Big nose
BBC's programme starts now.
Unchanged team
Three lions on the shirt... I'm getting excited, should I go to the pub or watch at home? Dilemmas.
COME ON ENGLAND!
Rio, Klinsmann and Shearer are still in the studio.
How Alli keeps his place is beyond me. Loftus Cheek might be a better call as he’ll run at people, and the Swedes will probably be sitting deep waiting to counter.
Where's the team news? I can't find it anywhere.
Roger ‘grandad’ Milla
Come on England!
Barry Davies.
Italia 90.
Lineker knew a good thing or two about a dive.
I just threw up in my mouth at that shite.
That Bobby Robson documentary is bloody good.
Directed by Gabriel Clarke too. When put together these two sentences together don’t make any sense.
Daughter #1's just tried to sneak Teletubbies on while I was out of the room.
And now there's no Christmas.
I hope you boys are not going to cry if we lose. I think I might cry if we win!
Three Lions on the shirt...
I should be on the telly, they've just said what I posted, that we need more from our forward players.
Sweden: Olsen; Krafth, Lindelof, Granqvist, Augustinsson; Claesson, Ekdal, Larsson, Claesson; Toivonen, Berg.
England: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire; Trippier, Henderson, Alli, Young; Lingard, Sterling; Kane.
Come on Welbeck's supporting cast.
