Another defeat.
In for a relegation fight if something doesn't change. Already are I suppose really, although fight is a bit presumptuous at this stage.
Another goal I suppose, which is almost like a win these days.

If we keep doing the same thing, maybe we'll get a different result.
Sorry N_Q, merged the threads, mine must have just been before by a second or so.
My title was better because you've added undue credibility.
I don’t know about anyone else but I’m really surprised that heroic point at home to Southampton hasn’t proven to be a turning point.
No way we’re getting relegated. There is too much talent, fight and managerial nous for that to happen.
credit where it's due we had a go in the second half and if Auba had been on the pitch we might have got something
Martinelli should definitely start the next game
i suppose at least we didnt get thrashed and we did force a good save at the end. but not sure what to say... central midfield is just woeful.
Chelsea next which wont be fun. Then we have some real six pointers with Brighton, Palace, Newcastle. These are must win games.
2 shots on target the whole game. Progress.
Well at least we should pick up points against City
This side will be relegated
I finished a whole pack of Opal fruits or Starburst i guess they call them now, while watching this match. It was good. Maybe by Monday this rookie experiment will be over.
i dont want to me negative.... but i think we wont make Champions League places this season. i know we deserve to be there because as NQ says we are a big club. But i just have a feeling we will fall short.
No shots on target in the second half when we need to chase the game. :haha:
This game was a write off for me so not surprised about the outcome. Chelsea game is a write off too, though I think they will thrash us.
I think we can all now agree that Ozil was the problem.
We created enough chances not to lose the game apparently.
Noth worth anyone's time to list everything that is wrong.
But once again, all the positive stuff came from the younger players. AMN, Saka, Tierney and Willock were the only ones attempting something different. Even Martinelli showed more in a few one-twos and his movement than the senior attackers have shown in years.
That players like Willian, Ceballos, Pepe, Xhaka and Lacazette have continually been picked over younger guys with more talent, energy, nous and basic professionalism is the biggest indictment of Arteta. These experienced turds have showed time and time again during their Arsenal career that they offer almost nothing positive.
"Just play the kids" is a cliche when things are going badly, but the marked difference in performance between the younger and senior players is now so obvious that it's self-harm to not even give them a chance while nothing changes on the pitch. We've been saying this for a while now under different managers, but at this point, there really is nothing to lose so why continue to inflict dross like Willian upon everyone?
You could see a scenario where a team feautring Martinelli, Nelson, Smith Rowe, Willock, AMN and a few others beats Citeh in the League Cup and Arteta then reverts to the same old shit in the League. It would just underline his descent into incomprehensible madness.
We responded well.
Dominated.
Spirit. Fight.
Generating enough chances to score goals.
Difficult playing a team that only defends.
The boys are fighting. They are together. You can see that on the pitch.
Fuck off.
4 points off the relegation zone.
:lol:Quote:
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports: "Without conceding much we lost the game on two key moments.
"We reacted really well. We dominated the game. We created enough chances at least to not lose. We hit the bar. We don’t have the luck.
"We are in a big fight. We lost against Burnley without them having a shot on target, and now we lose because of a couple of chances.
"It’s really difficult when you play a team who are defending low and wasting time. We make it difficult for ourselves conceding the first goal.
"I think we had 15 shots but only two on target. We need to improve our rate, that’s the reality.
"We need to generate more to win football matches. When it comes to small details, the other team wants it more.
"The boys are absolutely still fighting. They’re hurt right now."
The Chelsea match doesn’t matter. It is Brighton and West Brom after which is shaping up to be huge.
Only Sheffield United have lost more games than us. This is the worst Arsenal team in decades and they haven’t shown anything this season that suggests they’re too good to go down.
His position has got to be untenable now surely? The players have given up.
In terms of results it is untenable but I don’t believe the club have the balls to sack him. They’ve doubled down on him and are now simply hoping for some miracle turnaround when it is painfully obvious to everyone watching how far gone this team is. Scoring a goal from open play, not getting spanked, having a few more shots, these are all apparently signs of progress now which shows how low they’re falling and continue to fall.
I think it’s time for Pardew
