Perhaps Wenger does understand what a sense of urgency is after all!
Nah, he understands that Dann will be £6mill whereas a step up to what we actually need costs £17mill. He's just fucking us again.
Scott fucking Dann!!!??
You're having a laugh!!
What are you making a thread about Scott Dann? Terry Tuffnutz says not to believe the press! ;)
This summer will win Wenger the WUM of the Decade award, which is the trophy he's always been after.
Dann could be another smokescreen, used to force down the price of Merde-sack. I'll be very disappointed in Wenger if we don't end up with the worst option.
Just a mischievous reference to an exchange I'm having with Terry on another thread. My view on Dann is that once again, we are looking for the cheapest option, rather than the most effective one. I think the manager is obsessed to bargain hunting - unless of course its for a teenanger - and that this will be to the detriment of our team. And I think its depressing that we are by all accounts competing with the likes of Sunderland and Stoke City for the player.
I just cant believe that this is the same club that went through 49 games unbeaten in the PL! Where did we change our course and head towards becoming a Stoke, Villa, Fulham?!
Damn, our price minus £2mill tactic isn't going to work then. Scrub that option. Surely there's some unknown French kid out there, someone who can't defend, has no bottle and makes critical mistakes at key moments in big matches? That would be ideal because he could hit the ground running, no bedding in period required.Quote:

Christmas at Wenger's house must be sh*te, you're expecting an Iphone 4 and he buys you an Airphone 4.

It's just like the Iphone except nothing works properly.
Tbf the rot is not winning the league so they're pretty well connected.
I think they used to be connected, but we've slipped even more. Wenger has said it himself, top 4 is the ambition of this club. I think with the squad as it stands, coupled with Wenger's methods, we are overreaching. Just a solid season, regardless of where we finished, where we stopped with the stupid mistakes, played solid at the back, started moving the ball purposefully and added a bit of entertainment back into our game - that would be a positive step.
People should be hoping this signing comes off as we sure as hell won't bother with an alternative because "we have enough in those areas and Song can also play there"
Fair enough, that makes sense. I'm pretty sure the extent of our ambition isn't just getting top 4 but if it gets us back to actually being able to win something I could take that 'solid' season, especially as I'm pretty sure we'll still be good enough to keep our CL spot.
Is he the super quality Wenger was on about?
Leave Afobe alone, you bastard.
I'm disappointed by default, because I don't know shit about this chump.
Thing is, he might not actually be shit.
I think I might have been critical before that chimps like Jagielka, Samba or Hangelaand weren't indentified early and taken a chance on, while they were still relatively cheap and unregarded.
Those kinds of signings look foresighted in hindsight.
Equally Dann could turn out to be an ill-considered cheap-ass option. But at this stage, how can you tell either way?
No, I mean, just being happy to be in the PL! I fear once we drop out of the drop 4 and I can assure you it will happen sometime very soon unless AW changes his ways or is sacked, we will be in free fall! I can see us becoming the Aston Villas, Evertons, Fulhams etc who just battle to stay in the PL. Thats my opinion and I am usually right about things like these..
The awkward moment when arsen give a speech about not wining anything for 6 years and scott danns in the dressing room smirking to himself
*Sighs*
I sometimes get the impression Arsene goes for the cheap option to prove a point that he doesn't need to spend BIG to improve the squad. I've no idea why we're after Dann.
Well he can't be any worse than Squillacci can he? Surely that's not humanly possible.
So therefore it's a good signing.
Let's face it, Wenger has been shit for years so why are we surprised he's once again fucking up in the transfer market and going for the cheaper shittier version of what we need?
I will accept Dann if we get another to go with it ie Cahill or Jags.......havent heard anything of Samba for a while so me thinks a dead story
I doubt we will sign 2 CB's. If we sign Dann then we will have 5 CB's in the first team set up which is unnecessary. Squid needs to be sold ASAP, waste of wage money.
was thinking the same thing myself just after I posted it.......but we can only hope.......bringing two in would knock the others down a slot but that aint the worst thing that could happen
Squid is a defo Must Go
surely something like Luton would take him for nothing
was going to edit this but thought it best left (sorry Luton supporters)Quote:

Steve Kean insists Blackburn are yet to receive an offer for highly-rated centre-half Chris Samba.
Arsenalhttp://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif and Tottenham have been heavily linked with the commanding defender, but both North London giants are yet to make a move.
Keanhttp://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif is hoping that remains the case, as Rovers have no intention of sanctioning a sale.
They have already offloaded Phil Joneshttp://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif to Manchester Unitedhttp://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif this summer and are reluctant to part with another important member of their defensive unit.
Kean said: "Chris is only a few months into a five-year contract. There have been rumours every single week but we have not had any bids at all, not one, and long may that continue.
Difficult
"We know it's life without Phil, and if you lose somebody at the last minute it can be very difficult.
"We hope that won't happen, we hope that's the only centre-half we have lost this season and that the phone doesn't ring and that Chris is happy with us."
Kean also said that talks over a new deal with Zimbabwe striker Benjani, who is out of contract, were 'not dead' yet.
He added: "We made him a contract offer that was not adequate for what he was after. There has been a little bit of movement on both sides so it's not dead yet."
