There should be at least two Groups of Death.
Hope England end up with crap teams like Ireland in our group.
Germany in the Quarter-Finals. I can sense it.
It's a bit stupid putting the host countries in the first pot. Thought we'd out-grow that by now.
Best case scenario
Poland
England
Greece
Ireland
Pick up 3 wins, have Rooney back in the team for the quarters refreshed and we go on to win the whole thing
Worst case
Netherlands
England
Portugal
France
3 defeats, might get a point but England become the Arsenal of International football.
Group the world wants to see
Spain
Germany
Portugal
France
Do they think the top seeds are likelier to get an easy group? This competition is arguably harder to win than the World Cup. So Poland and Ukraine will still probably end up in a group with a similar difficultly level if they had been in their natural pots.
Spain
Italy
Greece
Ireland.
Group of debt.
What was so great about it?
Just look at the teams going into this year's borenament. You have Spain and Germany and then what? Nothing. The standard is going to be lower than the English Championship. And every other team will just try to shut the two decent teams down. Get ready for one long bore, as usual.
Goals, great football, excitement amongst other things.
Spain and Germany and then nothing?
No point continuing this with someone who clearly watches no football outside of Arsenal which is fair enough
Yeah, Euro 2008 was awesome.
Turkey.
Everyone's second favourites are going to do it this time. A rvp led Netherlands will win.
NQ using Spain as a barometer of excitement?
They're probably more boring than England.
NQ :rose:.
We could have done with the Turks though. Their matches are always mental.
NQ probably got mixed up with the World Cup last year. Now that was a shocker.
No, the last World Cup was bad even by international standards. I'm not measuring entertainment (or excitement) by the Spanish team, I'm just saying they, along with the Germans, are the only two who are capable of playing the game to any decent standard. Then there's a gap to the Dutch and then a couple of light years to the garbage piled on to make up the numbers. Three or four players here or there could provide the odd moment that makes not being in a coma worthwhile, but is it really worth all the waste of time and money. Plus our players could get injured so from an Arsenal fan's point of view, what exactly is the point of this ridiculous tournament? Okay, it generates cash for a bunch of greedy cunts who already have a lot of cash. Other than the obvious though. What's the point?
What's the point of anything?
You being on GW is generating money for Letters vBulletin I presume?
It'll be good. The Euros generally are really. Anyway, if it's only the Netherlands, Germany and Spain that can play to any decent standard (which isn't true) but anyway that could mean a minimum of nine games for you to enjoy, can't be bad for a couple of weeks. Then you can just bide your time until Arsenal are in pre-season again.
It's today.
SSN's programme starts at 17:00.
BBC's programme starts on BBC2 and online at 16:45.
Also, now we know all the teams. Sweepstakes time?
France
Koscielny.
Sweepstake time indeed!

Not long now until we get the Polish and Ukrainian equivalents of David Copperfield doing their 'stuff' "Look, the trophy disappear!"
Here we go then (well, the programme anyway), as I'm going with BBC - for some reason.
Ceremonies.
BBC's programme is on now
Lawro and Keown are in the studio.
"Potugal" :doh:
The draw is actually scheduled for 17:37 apparently.
Very clever BBC, very clever. Position Lawro as the Republic Of Ireland 'representative' so he can put over England from an 'independent' perspective. Classy!
"Painful memories of that[Eng- Ire Italia 90]" - Right on Pearcy
Lawro isn't doing much for the ratings.
Lawro.
Misunderstanding what Keown was getting at. Plus, Messi could've chosen to play for Spain
Also, a cover of Orange Crush?!
Editors' destruction of 'Orange Crush'?!! No need!!
