No way. RVP is a quality player and always has been for us. It's his injuries that are the problem. If he'd have stayed fit during the 07-08 season, we'd have won the title. He was on fire during preseason and was scoring a lot of our early goals, but he got inured and missed the season. Plus, even. Before that. He was scoring spectacular goals for fun. He's a quality player and this isn't a one hit wonder situation.

Even in his half-seasons he has scored at healthy ratios. You can't have nearly a one-in-two career ratio without consistency. Though yes, his dip after the Newcastle game last season was disappointing, but fatigue probably played its past. Andy Johnson dived and scored penalties for like one season. No comparison here.

It's going sour with RVP, but just thinking back over his career...this is a huge loss. One the vey few players I actually like and thought he lead be example last season. Sad it has to end like this.

But they are to an extent. We're going to sell him but we're going to at least make it seem as if we're prepared to let him see out his contract. He may have refused to go but are we that pussy whipped as a club? He came back for preseason training and could have refused to train with the club if he really wanted to push the boat out. I just think we've come to some sort of agreement.
