theres more to being a world class player than having some skill with a ball. also remember some of our players are black and also made out of human meat.

That was five years ago! This isn't the first time that the club have not come out and said we have money to spend but it is the first time they have come out and said we can do 'exciting' things. They must know how poisonous it has got since then and how poisonous it will be should it go as you suggest. If they're cold, unwielding businessmen that only cares about the profit bottom line, then there's no way in hell they won't take notice of that and do something like signing Suarez, which would appease the mass amount of fans.

That should be the cynical take on it, not that we're doing it so we can back out and say 'ah well, at least we tried'. It's just not going to cut it anymore.

1) i havent made up anything. I said it needs more than skill to be world class. go back and read it again. You can let your lips move if it helps.
2) see that and raise you pires vs pompey in 2003. Surazez goes way beyond either of those
3) 40 million is a lot of money and you have no guarantee of getting even 50% of your money back. remember this is a club that worries about spending 10 million on gary cahill when we think he should only be worth 6mill.
