I've always had faith he'd be a top player, but I can't quite believe how good he's become! My comparisons with Schweinsteiger last season seem to be doing Ramsey a disservice! He's great defensively, box to box, tricky dribbler, pace, power, thunderous shot, deft clinical finishing - he's just an utterly top class player.
It's such a privilege to have a blend of top quality players all clicking together once again. There is no glaring weakness in our squad for the first time in nearly a decade. Of course an injury to Giroud would be catastrophic, but I have more faith in our German striker with 111 caps than most.
The invincible's were perfect because we had so many players all playing together who had legitimate claims for being among the best in the world for their positions. Sagna, Ozil and Cazorla for me are undoubtedly top of the range, with Ramsey playing at that level currently, and Wilshere having the talent to reach such heights himself. There is also a vast amount of experience to back up some of the outrageous talent we have flowing through our squad. All in all I just have a very good feeling about the squad we are putting together.
Our back 4 will not get the recognition it deserves until they rightly win something, but the Mertesacker Koscienly partnership seems to work perfectly, and I can't believe how much Gibbs has progressed since last season. Gibbs would probably walk into most World Cup squads other than Englands ironically. Mertesacker is the commanding presence we'd all hoped he would be, and is clearly the best leader we've had at the back since big Sol.
