He is better than Rosicky IMO, who is now probably a first choice midfielder (by default), so it would be an upgrade in my view.

I agree, but then none of our signings are our 1st choices, at this stage can we really sign those types of players and even if we could would we be willing to part with the cash needed.

I think we've reached the stage where we're just signing players to make do rather than to make us a force again.

Pissed an perplexed we watched Parker and Bellamy walk to other clubs. If we're rooting in the bargain bin then let's at least get some bargains. What does Arteta actually give us if he's injured for half the season? Why didn't we go for Hargreaves then?

Why on earth have we left things so late? Arteta would be quite a good signing, but given that we're in the final few hours of the Transfer Window, a deal looks somewhat improbable at the moment.

If Arteta is our last piece of business then we've done it again - had the chance to fix the problems but come up one of two signings short. No lessons being learned here.

I remember being so excited after those two goals against the USA, and then he started his Arsenal career with another great long range strike against Hamburg. It's all gone downhill from then on.
