Our transfer policy was one of the reasons some of us have serious issues with Wumgers arrogance. Has he finally listened to reason & conceeded that he may not always be right? - with the arrival of Sanchez & high hopes of Khedira we have started this pre-season like no other I can remember with signings of quality & more importantly not selling our best players. In my opinion, these 2 come hand in hand - the likes of Kos, Rambo & Ozil who may be on the radar of others can now see we mean business. We didn't show the likes of Fabregas, Nasri & Van Persie that we wanted to compete.
However the Germans have shown once again that the most important ingredient of any footballer is a footballing brain. With a distinct lack of pace in attack they still managed to out score everyone. The game against Brazil showed players that knew when to pull a ball back, when to run beyond the defence, when to move it quickly etc etc - the simple decision making that separates true world class from simply good players. Unfortunately we have had a distinct lack of players with the ability to make the right decisions most of the time. Walcott is a good example, how many times does he make the wrong pass, the wrong run, a poor cross. Wheelchair is another good example. I also worry about Giroud in this sense & need to see more of Sanchez before knowing what he is like. Rambo has come on leaps & has the ability to be this kind of a player, Ozil already is but needs others around him - apart from that we are struggling. Khedira brings another quality brain into the team ( if we get him ) but I would still like to see a proper forward that simply makes the right decisions - someone like Muller would be wonderful, still only 24 & very underrated outside of Germany.
