Arteta's made a few transfer-related comments in his press conference, including a bit of a weird bit on Saliba: "Well as I explained, the difficult year that the player had and the plan that we had for him, for the transition year, we could not achieve. We are looking at different options to try to have the best possible development for the player and to protect our intentions with William for the future. We want to both be aligned and make the best decision for now and for the future."
that last bit is a bit cryptic, they're not thinking of selling him again are they...or maybe a loan?

Yep, I think it’s pretty much done. A lot of the stuff in the press sounds like sensationalist bullshit to me, especially the bit about PSG wanting him but not having the money to pay for him until next year.
That in itself is ridiculous, but Aulas would sell Lyon players pretty much anywhere else than to PSG! It’s equivalent to Man U selling their best players to Liverpool or vice versa.
Signings please.
Now.
At once.
It’s urgent.
! High Priority
Maybe Edu forgot to write “URGENT” in his email to Lyon? I know that always works with me.
The cryptic Saliba comments might be in relation to him losing his mum recently.
Apart from something as difficult as that, he also had an injury-plagued year and hasn't played regular football for a while because of the pandemic.
If you take all that into consideration, a year back in France with his family starts to make sense. It's obviously not a question of his ability. He's still a kid, so I think giving him some time to properly rehabilitate mentally and physically isn't at all unreasonable. But most football fans seem to be selfish, petulant, inconsiderate brats and can't see anything beyond the game.

There’s nothing cryptic in the Saliba comments - he’s 19, he’s missed almost all of the last year of football and he needs regular games to get up to speed, which we can’t offer him just yet.
A lot of us (myself included) have clearly pinned a lot of hopes on him forming an immense partnership with Gabriel, but it’s clearly not going to happen as quickly as we’d like.
Signings is one thing but we also need to get rid of about 5 players at least if possible.
