Sporting Lisbon vs Arsenal 26.11.2024 KO 20:00 GMT

A tough test for us to bounce back after a night where we were the better side but an extremely soft pel award along with us being unable to score, contributed to defeat against Inter.

I’m not keen on us being linked with Gyokeres, Mario Jardel was one of the top scorers in European football at Sporting Lisbon over 20 years ago and he did nothing when Bolton signed him.

It’s also more of a summer signing and I think we need a striker in January even if on loan

For the time being anyway, I think we probably need to look to win this one. Lay down a marker and help us cement a place in the top eight.

We’re dreadful away in Europe and I suspect that won’t be changing here. A win would give us a great chance to finish in the top 8 though.

This is a shit parody of the European Cup and the sooner we are out of it and can take a shower the better. Hope we lose and lose big.

Putting out our strongest available XI tonight. I say available I don’t think there’s too much variable in quality between Timber and White…they just offer different things. Timber better defensively, White better going forward

Martinelli, Partey, Rice and Havertz all starting

Likewise although they're different I wouldn't say there's much between Martinelli and Trossard, though Trossard's actually the more clinical in front of goal and Martinelli has more pace

I think Martinelli is the superior player but that’s just my view. Trossard is definitely a very good member of the squad despite current form
