3-0 Mick Channon Hat-trick
Southampton are the poster child for how painfully big the gap is between premiership and championship
Though honestly I went to the reverse fixture at the Emirates and I didn’t think they were that bad.
Results have obviously demonstrated otherwise
No Timber or Saliba for this (the type of thing that would annoy me half way through the season, but as it’s the last game of the season, champions league is settled as most likely is 2nd place…I’m not going to shed any tears)
Raya, White, Calafiori, Kiwior, MLS, Rice, Partey, Nwaneri, Martinelli, Havertz, Sterling (not singling Saka out, he just looks unfit)

This doesn't even deserve an "I hope we win, tbh", tbh.
Although I suppose on principle I hope we do.

If Arteta doesn’t play Nwaneri in this..

Should hammer them really, Southampton are appalling and now they're going down without being the worst Premier League team ever, doubt they'll be quite so resolute.
Weird shit has happened at St Mary's before but 1-5 tbh.

Last time we played Southampton on the last day of the season sway from home was 24 years ago
We lost 3-2
Although in fairness that was at the Dingley Dell

Can see us really putting on a show as a big thank you to the fans. Some loverly, open and expressive football, peak entertainment and a good day out for all.
But not really.
Dour, lazy, careless, slow, sideways and stupid. Plan A.

So our record on the last day of the season in the premier league era
Is 23 wins 2 draws and 7 defeats
It should be noted that we’ve not lost on the last day of the season since 2005 (2-1 defeat to Birmingham City)
And since 2011 we’ve won every single time on the last day of the season.
We’ve scored 76 goals in the previous 32 games and conceded 37
We’ve played 16 times at home
We’ve played 16 times away from home
Everton are the team we’ve played the most - playing them at home on four occasions - 2002, 2017, 2022 and 2024

Pointless stats
Should win really. Southampton have already managed to avoid being the WOATs.
