Usonly we could fuck up something so simple.
Higuin for 30 mil, plus no baggage, suspensions and messy transfer probably looking like the more sensible option now. He would have been with squad for couple of weeks already.
We might still end up getting Suarez, but it will be last minute deadline day, and very very messy.
We really have become quite incompetent at transfer dealings.

we dont even need a striker. We scord more or less as many as we did in RvC's last season and had four players into double digits. And that's during giroud's first season adaptation to english football (he will be quality by the way - if you dont see that go fuck yourself. seriously)
However we still dont have a proper midfield enforcer and are converting an ageing rightback into a centraback ahead of ignasi miquel - which means our defence is paper thin again. And there are still question marks about the goalie.

whether you buy into wengervision or not, it is true taht he has a decent young squad now who you would expect to be getting better each year as thery approach maturity. Logically, you should only spend if you see something that is very compelling and not spend for the sake of it.
if this sounds 'arsene knows best' it isnt meant to - ive had enough of him and want him gone at the end of his contract. For example Then I dont see how betting on diaby's new adamantine skeleton instead of buying capoue for 10 quid makes sense. Nor letting a defender go on loan and only then realising miquel isnt fit to be 4th choice CB so you then have to draft in sagna at CB.

Yeah but we've been here before haven't we, young squad getting a bit more experienced...ready to win title etc....they never come close. The fact is the squad lacks a lot of quality and doesn't even have those leaders you need when the going gets tough, the only time we can get results is when there's nothing left to play for. In addition our football is awful nowadays, last season we had a good run at the end of the season but really laboured to wins.
I don't see the potential in this squad, there's a handful of decent players and that's it IMO.
