Didn't catch the game. Popular thought suggests Podolski and the like were off the pace. Not so surprising. Has anyone at the club come out with anything about the lack of pre-season fixtures this year? Poldo himself said he feels a couple of weeks off match fit. It seems like the club did not adequately compensate for the lack of Emirates Cup this year and kind of muddled things, especially for Poldo and Giroud. Not going to help us better an awful start last year. Anyway, other than that, 0-0 it's a marathon not a sprint. More attacking cohesion should come, though more optimistic about Giroud than Podolski through the middle right now.

Points already dropped, i hope this is a one off but even if we play shite we need to beat teams like Sunderland at home. Squad gelling together is a factor but id prefer podolski on the left and giroud up front from now.

From the little highlights I've seen I thought we looked quite good in spells, Cazorla especially looked superb. We've a way to go yet, if we're honest....top 4 is the expectation this season and I think we're capable of it.
