Hatin on Pietersen is a bit harsh, IMO. He's had a very good run of scores. Admittedly against pub team attacks at home. This was a terrible shot, though. The Irish guy doesn't cut it. Good for a breezy 35 and that's it. That's the malaise of a lot of no.6 batsmen these days, to be fair.
Dont have a problem with the way KP got out.
Rather that than playing to block/leave the ball and still getting out

Stauss needs to man up and bat no.4 for the good of the team. He's consistently shite as an opener, and either needs to get his head right and do a no.3 shift, or continue being shit and go no.4.
Great captain, no doubt. But he's not good enough as an opener.
It's better to burn out, than to fade away.

He has family living on my street so used to see him quite a bit back when he used to tour England and had Tests in London. Seen him and Saqlain Musthaq countless times.
If I ever met him, I'd remind him of the game he scored the ODI world record of 194 and India still ended up winning the match by chasing down 314. Amazing match that was - probably the day I got into cricket. Shame the India-Pakistan matches don't get played any more - they used to be incredible viewing.
