Personally wont miss podolski too much should he end up leaving. Decent player but seems a lazy fucker at the same time.

Besides, we need to make room for Benteke and Higuain.

If he stays, I'm ok with that also, as he's not a Must Get Rid a la Gervinho, Chamakh and possibly Giroud.

After Christmas, he was killing it on the left. For 7-8 games around the Newcastle game when Theo was scoring a lot. He can play on the left for us. If we get a clever striker like jovetic in, he should create chances for theo and Podolski.

Needs to be played upfront though.

He can do a job on the left if needed but he's a striker.

Time for 4-4-2 to come home.

I wouldn't even put Gervinho or Giroud on the 'must get rid' list. They should be squad players and the same can be said for Podolski.

I suppose it's a good sign that Wenger hasn't taken so long to bench and replace players that aren't producing. He was ruthless with Chamakh and spared no time benching Gervinho and Podolski.

He was only ruthless with Chamakh because of RVC's return.

And it did look like Podolski was carrying an injury, so I'm not sure if he was dropped. And then we went on a good run, so the team stayed the same mostly.

Podolski is a good player to have around because he guarantees goals. Are we a club that can afford to have a high earner like him sitting on the bench though? That's why I could see him being sold if we buy any new attacking players. Seeing as Sanogo will be our premier purchase, however, he will most likely stay and continue to look rigid and only occasionally useful in our system.

But Podolski was playing well scoring a few goals and chalking up a fair amount of assists prior to being benched, so a bit harsh to say he wasn't producing. I remember lots of fans asking why Wenger was freezing him out after his good run of form. The answer posted here was that he was carrying an injury.

I still believe he's a lazy fucker who is capable of giving a higher output, but it seems he was another one Wenger was ready to kill off for whatever reason. Luckily for him, the French statue got suspended.

I'm still not convinced he can play there. He hardly attempts to beat his marker when one on one and needs someone else to create the space for him with a good pass. He works better with an attacking fullback like Gibbs. It's like we need two players to do the job of one. It usually takes a combination of passes to advance down the left side and it's as if he needs service just to get beyond fullbacks instead of creating it for himself which is what a typical winger will do.

It's a tricky one because he's putting up the numbers, can deliver the good pass and finish when needed, unlike Gervinho but we miss that marauding threat down our flanks. The complete attacking winger. We're getting half and half on each side of attack because it's the same with Theo on the right. But Theo at least tries to beat his opponent on the wings and sometimes pulls it off. I don't know how Wenger will balance it all up. He's also got Cazorla playing there too so who knows what's on the cards.

We have too many fucking squad players! If we continue to buy and house mediocre players like Giroud, Bendy, Chamcack, Ramsay, and even Walcott, we will continue to be a club that is only looking at 4th the place trophy! We should only buy quality! It is false economy to continue to buy shite players. Freddie Lljunberg was right to slate the club.
