Right. Right...
Ordered a camera on Monday after an incident on a recent holiday involving my old camera and some sea water did not end well for the camera.
I have Amazon Prime, ordered it in the evening so figured I'd have it by Wednesday.
Wednesday I had an email saying they'd tried to deliver it but no-one was in so they'd try again the next day.
I wasn't sure anyone would be in the next day either and I really wanted it for this weekend so I asked if they could deliver it to my work address.
No, they said. No explanation, just "'puter says no" (for those of you in the UK).
So I asked if they could maybe leave it with a neighbour the following day if no-one was in. They said they would and I'd have it by the weekend. Hurrah.
Was out watching England on Wednesday when I had an email saying they'd delivered it to my neighbour Ian. I don't have a neighbour called Ian.
The tracking information says they delivered it just after 6pm. I was in just after 6pm, I didn't go out to watch the game till half past. There was no information about which house they'd left it at.
Spoke to Amazon again Thursday morning, they told me it was 3 doors down. Our neighbour, who has lived in the street 20 years, didn't know of anyone called Ian living close by, you'd think if there was someone called Ian 2 doors down from him he'd know about it, especially as he's quite a friendly chap.
Multiple attempts to retrieve the package last night, left a note which was still poking out of the door this morning. Basically, I think they're on holiday, Ian doesn't exist and the delivery bloke has just stolen the camera figuring I'd get a replacement anyway or a refund so no harm done.
Amazon have now said they can't re-order the item because it's not in stock so they'll give me a refund (their website says I can re-order it for delivery on Monday). They've offered me £10 compensation.
They can f***. Right off. Twunts.
And...breathe.
