These days we bid half the price of what the selling club wants for players, but at least Arsene can tell us all at the start of the season that he tried to buy players, but he couldn't find any players at the right price that were better than what we currently have.

If the latest set of reports on the Mata situation are true then the club is really making it hard for me to renew my Optimism Clique membership. Surely the Mata deal (if there ever was one) has not fallen through because of Cesc?! It makes no business sense to stall so his price can potentially rise because we're waiting on another deal which seems inevitable at some point. I was so excited about the prospect of Mata, I wonder what the situation really has been over the past two weeks.
