My priority is for us to sign a defender, as much as I like Chambers he's still learning his trade and we need experienced defensive cover.
The way I look at it if we tighten up the defence and have someone whose not a complete spastic sitting in front of the back four every other area of the pitch looks after itself, we have the pace in the side which we lacked last season to lay on goals for anyone. Personally I think it's an opportunity to let Podolski shine
I'd love to interview Wenger. The Sky guy last night basically telling him he needs to buy a striker should have started to laugh when Wenger explained why we didn't need to. He told the guy we have other quality strikers at the club by suggesting that he has bought Sanchez as a striker, which then beggars the question as to why in pre-season he was never played there. Then he says Theo is coming back from injury when we all know the Theo upfront tactic hasn't been a success, his body isnt built to be hit from behind by the likes of Shawcross, he's made of China. Then he says Podolski, if he thought he was a quality striker why has he hardly played there since joining us, he was after all RVP's replacement to appease the fans & has hardly had much ahead of him in the way of quality competition. Then he says Sonogo, which is a statement that is beyond comprehension & finally chips in with Campbell who hasn't started a game in that position & the jury is very much still out about if he's that good at all.
It's so hilarious, if it had been me I was would have started to smile at the mention of Podolski but totally lost it when Sonogo was mentioned & would have had to abandon the interview through fits of giggles. Woudln't that be good TV?.
Wenger went on to say that in England when a player is injured & out for a while everyone seems to think the simple answer to buy some one - Err, that's because when you only have 1 half decent proven center forward & he gets a long term injury then I'm afraid Mr Wenger that everyone is right - you have to buy, unless you don't want to compete ofcourse. Mr Pelegrini or Mr Rodgers don't have to do this because they have realized that you need a bit of strength in depth in this department with proven goal scorers & they can afford their main striker to be out.

Cant see it. What's the point of signing Herrera then? Unless they plan on using Carvalho at CB in which case it's yet another square peg. Fine line between genius and madness though so maybe we just would not understand.

Subotic has looked shaky since his ACL injury and Ginter is still very raw. He'll be first choice for them alongside Hummels.
