Let's not get silly.
Wenger is still not the manager who is going to go out and buy that type of player every window.
He has done it because the club needs it, not necessarily because it's what he would want to spend.
It puts a marker down though, and that is what we wanted.
Hopefully it will persuade a few other players of more reasonable value (42m is a fuck load of money, and I'm not comfortable with any club spending that), but of good quality to join us, if we need them.
I still have faith in the core of this side though. Wilshere, Cazorla, Ramsey, Theo, AOC, Gibbs, Kos, Merts, Chesney, Giroud, Flamini, Podolski, Sagna, Jenks....
Some need improvement, others are improving, some are experieneced, some aren't. It's a nice blend we have now.
It's better to burn out, than to fade away.
I hope so too. It seems wenger convinced ozil to reject more money from psg amd play for us. You have to wonder what he said to make that happen. Ozil is a genuine world class player, others will see him go amd think actually it's not a bad place to go. We paid the big money amd wages amd got it done. The first one is the hardest, others will hopefully follow.
Cheeky bid for Lewandowski in January...
Mert convincing Ozil shows players have to do a job off the pitch as well.
Time for Vermaelen to get Benteke home in January.
I think when you have a number of players from the International setup it often helps and it makes the potential new signing feel like it will be easier to settle in and he'll have players from his own country who can help him and who he can socialise with.
As I said before my only hope we'd get him lay with the fact we have a number of German players on our books. It's a big move for a foreign player to have to move country, find a new house when he doesn't know anyone and can be daunting, essentially they're changing their whole life.
already fucking up the marketing![]()
