Who is the coach is largely window dressing. I think it can be argued that if they retained that Gargoyle Cooper they’d be doing better than they are, doing well enough to avoid relegation ? Nah
Ultimately even if we try and cite the “Alchemy” job Moyes has done with Everton, the question then becomes well actually doesn’t Everton always go on a small run of results that keeps their head above water and Moyes is generally in and around what throat cancer boy was achieving earlier on in the season, not winning many games but not losing many games. The fact is player for player - Leicester, Southampton and Ipswich are the weakest teams in the league. Is it conceivable one of them could have stayed up? For sure but it would have been a miracle job up there with Bradford managing to stay up for two seasons 25 years ago
