    Copa America 2011

This is usually entertaining and always good to see Argentina become a laughing stock.

Not sure if full strength teams will be playing.

Also Spain were invited to play in this when Japan pulled out. That would have been interesting especially as Barcunts, Real, ourselves, Chavs would have a moan. They declined though so Costa Rica are in.

    Group A
    Argentina
    Colombia
    Costa Rica
    Bolivia

    Group B
    Brazil
    Paraguay
    Ecuador
    Venezuela

    Group C
    Uruguay
    Chile
    Mexico
    Peru

Well it may be necessary that Argentina play as that laughing stock. Maybe that helps weaken Grondona´s mafia. Then there would be only 20 entire club boards left to eliminate

But beware, if things go wrong, the newly built fences may accidentally open and nothing would stop the outraged mass to charge against the foreign players!!

The only thing I don´t want to see in this cup are Chicharito´s teeth.

PS: The anti argie posts are back, it feels like GW again

Will be interesting to see how Uruguay do after a great World Cup.

But Forlan, their best player last summer has had a shocking season apparently.

Argentina forward Lionel Messi played down an incident in which someone tried to punch him outside a restaurant in his home town of Rosario on Thursday.
"I wasn't even touched," Messi told reporters after a punch thrown by a youth wearing a hoodie failed to make contact.
"I didn't feel a thing and I only found out after all the kerfuffle, it was nothing," Messi told sports daily Ole (www.ole.com.ar) from Rosario, 300 km north of Buenos Aires.
Messi, on holiday after another brilliant season in which he helped Barcelona win the Champions League, left the restaurant with friends and was surrounded by autograph hunters.
Argentine media, who gave the incident massive coverage, said Messi's aggressor was a fan of Rosario Central, arch-rivals of Newell's Old Boys where the 23-year-old spent his formative years before joining Barcelona some 10 years ago.
"We're taking photos and we see the arm and he dodges it. (Messi) did not react badly, he left walking and got into the (car)," witness Carolina told the TV news channel C5N.
Messi will report to national team coach Sergio Batista on June 8 to begin training for next month's Copa America hosted by Argentina.

Actually, Ach, Messi is probably the only of the Barcelona players not likely to dive. The Barcelona team as a collective are a bunch of diving cheats but Messi is pretty clean.

Messi doesn't milk it as much as Busquets, Alves, Iniesta, Pedro, etc. but he rolls over a few times every game. It is overlooked though, as the refs and commentators fawn over his every movement. I remember Denilson being booked for a perfect challenge last season after some ref-baiting rolling from Messi. Same thing hapened with Wilshere (or maybe Song) this season.

I'm most surprised that he uses the word "kerfuffle" tbh.
