Australian open final, Sinner the Tyrolean is on his way to retaining his AO crown having taken the first set. Zverev is the nearly man of Tennis, a lot of promise in his younger days but given the prominence of his career, this is only his third GS final and in the previous two he managed to throw away a two set lead and a two sets to one lead respectively.

Sinner now two sets to the good, despite a promising break opportunity for Sinner early on…this one went to a tie break

Sinner breaks in the third set, leading 5-2 and just needs to hold serve once to retain his title

Which he does. Sinner wins 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 and takes his second Australian open and third Grand Slam in all
Catching up with Alcaraz who has four to his name
Routine win in the end, I note that this was probably an easier win for Sinner than against Taylor Fritz at Flushing meadows
If he doesn’t end up getting banned from the sport for two years. There will be a hell of a rivalry between Sinner and Alcaraz
