Bottle job
Got Atleti v Real Madrid on now and it goes to extra time.
ET
That first touch from Correa.
Atletico have never got the better of Real in a champions league tie have they?
Two finals and one semi final previously wasn’t it?
Quarter final I think but no they've never got past them before.
Semi final. Just checked 2017. Real won first leg 3-0, Atletico second leg 2-1
1-0 HT in ET.
to be fair, both teams are trying to win, not just playing for pels
Pelanties!
Atleti holding on from the first minute to the 120th is mad discipline.
it's pels....
0-1 Real Madrid, Mbappe
1-1 Sorloth!
1-2 Bellingham!
2-2 Alvarez!
Alvarez double tapped it so doesn't count!
1-3 now, Valverde.
Correa makes it 2-3.
Vasquez has it saved!!

Rudiger sends Markeing through!
bad luck Atleti, but glad Real are through just to see them at our ground - win or lose, will look forward to that one
Very much looking forward to playing Real Madrid.
All those years in the mud and dropping out of the CL, we craved this shit. Now we’ve got it.
Hope we actually make a tie of it.
If Saka is back, there is hope. If not, we'll need miracles or self sabotage from them.
Anyway this was the best outcome we could hope for from the two. Well done to Atleti for making Madrid work for this really hard.
So I’m largely in agreement with the sentiments of others, definitely wanted Real over Atletico and two ties of ugly and brutal football. I’m not confident we will get past them (though with Saka gives us a slight chance) but as long as we don’t do anything silly it should at least be somewhat competitive, and we’ve seen from defeats they’ve suffered in Europe that they can be got at.
But apart from anything else should be a hell of a night at the Emirates.
Being estimated that secondary market tickets for the first leg could be as high as £1000
I won’t lie, if it was £500 I’d honestly consider it. But not a grand. Last European Arsenal game I went to was the first leg of the semi final against Atletico Madrid. Dirty, time wasting buggers…that’s why I’m glad we don’t have them again now.
The disallowed pel seems really harsh, I couldn't really tell on the replays I saw and even if it was double touch it wasn't deliberate, that's clearly not what that rule is about - why don't they do what happens when the goalie moves off his line and make them take it again?
Haven’t even watched the highlights, where in the game was this?
Oh…that will teach me to half read things, I thought you were saying that we were awarded a pel and it was overturned. See what you mean now. But answer still the same I guess, would have to watch it back to form an opinion. Either way, it does seem harsh, I’d be more inclined to say retake it like they do if a keeper is off his line
So had a chance to look at this “double kick” pel, and whilst I appreciate I’m only looking at it from one angle I certainly couldn’t see it. Which again comes back to VAR being used to exceed its remit of “clear and obvious” errors
Apparently it happened when he actually struck the ball and brushed his other foot?
I cannot pick it up really. Incredibly harsh.
Ok Marketing missed one not long after but Alvarez's counting gives it a very different complexion.
