I don't see why Wenger had to bite and mention 'fairness'. It's not as if the window isn't open for everybody. He's not an idiot and knows when to be coy, when to duck a question or to flip it. He should have avoided that one without having to make another statement about the transfer window.Quote:

Wenger made this point years ago, not "weeks ago" as you mention :) The part of my quote you highlighted has nothing to do with either the January transfer window or his comments on Mata, so im a bit confussed why you highlighted it and then write what you did? Am i missing something here? :sQuote:

Mourinho as usual couldn't resist taking a pop shot at Wenger and us because he's a petty little man who for some reason has an odd vendetta against us. Had Ferguson, Moyes or someone else at United, made those comments he'd be queueing up to agree with it.

The fact that the comment that I highlighted in your quote was nothing to do with the Mata deal is very point I was making......deary me. I was alluding to the fact that Wenger should have not been drawn into commenting on the Mata deal at all but that his general feeling that the window should be 'completely open or completely closed' is quite valid.

I understood your comment fine, but i think you misunderstood my comment. The part you highlighted was partly about when Wenger last summer said that he thinks the transfer window should close before the league starts and partly about Mourinho saying that Wenger was okay with a late transfer window because he got Özil.Quote:
