I take your point, and tend to agree that Ozil will come good. Personally, I think its fair enough that when a club - even more so Arsenal - spend that amount on a player, the spotlight is on him and people are looking for him to work miracles every week.

Tight game. Thought we looked leggy and tired. Second half much better, and two big strikers bearing down on a perfect crosses from sagna really should've yielded a goal.
I don't think we were good value for three points but its a shame we didn't scarp our way to a draw.

I actually do think we need a game changer and have done since we sold the skunk. That is why I advocate the next forward we sign being of the absolute best quality we can afford, within reason.

And I think we need to acquire that game changer rather than mould Ozil into it. I think we should allow Ozil to be Ozil. He can obviously afford to score more but I don't think it's really his game to ever be a 1 in 1 or a 1 in 2 goal scorer.

Ozil is an exceptional player, however he needs other exceptional players around him otherwise , similar with the departure of Van P, it will beat case of one step fowardsand one step backwards. His lift on the team is tangible but we are imo still 1 or 2players away from the calibre of the invincibles, a team that can stand up to any other in this league or in Europe.The fear is that if we don't make the right purchases soon. We may end up where we were in 2009, on the cusp of great team only to see all our best players leave us in disillusionment. Players like, Ozil, Cazorla, will not be here in 2 years time if we still haven't won anything.

Yes that's true. Too many times we've rested on our laurels and thought further investment was not needed. Unfortunately football doesn't work like that because the level of competition is so high.

We're now in a sound financial position so must make use of it by signing 1-2 top players every year, say 1 in january and 1 in the summer. Or at the very least, 1 top signing and a few other less profile players in a calendar year. In other words, we need to go back to being a normal football club i.e. investing in the areas that need investing. This is something we stopped doing during project youth.
