It was a shame Benayoun didn't make it, his work rate would have been perfect tonight.
Gah.
Just wasn't meant to be.
Roll on Newcastle.

Nearly. But yes, we have very unfortunate striker depth. Wenger's persistence with throwing them (+ obviously Arshavin) on has exacerbated it. He should have latched onto something different by now until we sign some other fucker. As I said, if Ozyakup is on the bench and a key midfielder goes off when we're losing the battle, you have to put him on.
Anyway yeah...I expected little from tonight. But it's a nice win and hopefully the result of the tie hasn't deadened the flow we are in.
Fucked up the first leg
Fantastic 1st half
No bench
No real quality either side of RVP
Kos, you're the Boss
Ox, you're Tox
Well done lads, tried your best tonight but we just lacked that extra 2% quality.
*PS. Dear Mr WUMger
Theo, Gerv, Chackma, Park, Squilaci, Denilson, Bendtner, Vela, Manuel, Djoana ...can just fuck off already. Their wages can obviously be better utilised.

I wished Arshavin was still with us!
Theo and Gervinho need to be squad players or leave
Wilshere would have bossed that midfield as well.
Injury curse needs to piss off tbh.
Mesbah.......Theo finally found the one fullback that he could take on and beat. Still couldnt take advantage though.
That ref was horrible, obviously told to disrupt us as much as he believably could. He was oh so close to not giving the penalty
Another key part of the learning curve for Szczesny and Oxlade. Wilshere went through it last season. Those 3 are going to form the core for this team. Supported by Gibbs, Jenkinson, Coquelin and Miyaichi. We’ll hold on to Koscielny, Song, Sagna. And Van Persie is in this for the long haul, so I do actually think we’ll be able to strengthen a fair bit this summer even if we don’t spend much. Ironically, just as Wenger has called off ‘Project Youth’ and started bringing in Mertesacker, Arteta and more experienced players, the current crop of youngsters are the ones worth sticking with. They have already shown they are not a bunch of Vela’s. They have been performing at the highest level and they’re not the weak links in this squad. In fact, I think Oxlade staying on could’ve tipped it in our favour today.
Not playing until Monday is nice - gives everyone a chance to recover. Next up, killing off Pardew’s bunch of calypso charlatans would be welcome. Moving St. Totteringham’s day forward a year to April/May 2012 would be very welcome.
The game was there for the taking and we fucked it up . RVP squandered the best chance to make 4 . Song becoming complacent . Poor substitution from Wenger Chamack and Park ? just like Squillaci and djourou . But bravo gunners to have restore our pride .
Hmm, so close and yet so far ... Restored some pride I guess, but irritating substitutions from Wenger again. Chamakh coming on was fair enough, but why why why bring on Park? Jenkinson was the obvious choice for his ability to deliver a decent cross.
It's getting to the point now where Oxlade has to be one of the first names on the team sheet. Even at 18 he looks a cut above the rest. When he was dead on his feet he was still tracking back and launching into tackles. New Rosicky is also great to see - he was the biggest influence on the super first half IMO.
Pretty much. Proud of the boys tonight. I've decided to ignore the toddlers and WUMs on this thread, they're just looking for a reaction. It was a fantastic performance and we should all be proud of their efforts. Play like that till the end of the season and whatever happens there'll be no complaints from me.
Done us proud. Well done the lads. Top stuff. Hard luck.
Spurs 5-2, Liverpool 1-2, Milan 3-0...quite a nice set of results since we decided it was time for our annual bomb out of everything period.
Better late than never, I guess.
A decent sub should have been to bring on Miguel or Jenkinson at the left back and push Gibbs forward as a winger . Shift Gervinho to the right and bring on Oguzhan in the middle to help out Rosicky .
Rosicky  RVP  top draw!!!! Fuck milan. Fuck em all. That's what it's about. As long as we keep fighting like that, i don't give a fuck.
:good:
Some of the armchair fans and glory hunters on here. Just.
Don't.
Get it.
Nights like tonight are what being a Gooner is about. OK, we went out. But they gave everything, they fought till the end and they nearly climbed the seemingly impossible mountain. The atmosphere was brilliant tonight even after the final whistle. People got it. They got that the players had given everything and that's all we ask. Win, lose or draw so long as they put the effort in they deserve credit and support.
Come on Arsenal :scarf:
