Aye. Very true. Didn't see the game but fired up a stream for the shoot out. Damn good saves but very poor penalties. Hopefully Mata saw the game and has second thoughts about joining united.

It's done now, completed tomorrow.
Oh well, atleast Moyes is still there.
It's not the direct influence Mata will have on Utd will have on the pitch. Mata or not they're not likely to get back to the top three nor does it even catergorically secure them top four. He's not that good of a player to singlehandly accomplish that.
It's about the bigger long term picture. You all saw what happened to us after we signed Ozil - it rejuvenated the club, made us a more attractive proposition and generally increased our standing amongst the footballing elite. By signing someone like Mata it increases the chances of them finishing top four and thus keeping RVC and Rooney and attracting top quality calibre players to compete once again.
To quote AVB, Man Utd are in a downward spiral. It's for all our benefits (City, Chelsea and us) to keep them there instead of giving them a hand up to get back on track.
How will Juan Mata be able to sign his contract with all the shit pens at Old Trafford?
lol Daily Fail falling for the twitter bollocks about Wenger being at the Barca game tonight

What?? :shrug:Quote:
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was in the stands to watch Tello take his three goals excellent
This.
I am not worried about Man U this season, I personally feel we will finish above them unless we have a major collapse.
Saying that I am not particularly looking forward to playing them as we will most likely have to face Rooney, RVP, Mata and Januzaj. They have very good attacking options, it's there Midfield and Defence which is the problem and needs major investment.
I still don't understand why Chelsea are selling them Mata, doesn't make any sense to me, he's a proven top class PL Performer and still hasn't peaked.
Chelsea were lucky they played them during their crisis and without their two strikers. We'll probably face a confident and full strength Man ure and although id love us to piss all over them, they will be a different animal.
So, nothing it is then.
I think it was personal between the two of them to be fair..Maureen could have priced him at 50million and Man U still would have paid it!!! They are that desperate. Read the Telegraph saying that Maureen will go for Barkley now but Id take Mata any day over Barkley. Think he's made a huge error here---would be interesting to see the reaction of chelsea fans! Clearly their best player being sold. Hazard and Oscar no where near with playmaker awareness...
Chelsea fans are still sucking his dick, so they support it.
If it was Rafa doing the exact same thing he'd get slaughtered.
I have a feeling we are going to sign Benteke! :)
Hope not.
I'm still struggling to understand any advantages of leaving the Drexler signing until the Summer. If its a case of Signing him now but leaving him at Shalke for the rest of the year, then so be it but if that's not the case what can we gain. If he has an impressive end of season & a good world cup his value will rise even more & we could have the likes of Madrid & Bayern bidding aswell. The negotiations would also take time during a period when we must also be looking for a top striker & defensive midfielder. Surely it would be better to use the £37 mill from this years budget so that it doesn't effect next seasons. The boy is quality & I would imagine Wumger would listen to advise from Merts & Ozil about him.
Our signings will be last minute on 31st Jan, if there are any at all.
I liked the last min signings of Arteta and Merts …so here's hoping...
Maureen knows Man ure still have to play us, City and Pool so he's giving them all the help he can.
Chelsea fans wont say shit as Mauren has them in his pocket.
My Chelsea mates aren’t impressed. One thinks he’s still trying to get in with the United board. He really is a piece of shit. I also think he’s gone all Sun Tzu and trying to pull off his Art of War tactics. He doesn’t have to worry about playing United again so he’s tried to pull a chess move. The rest of the title contenders have to play them. Ass wipe of a man.

I hope he's bluffing!
Wenget's gonna Wenget.
The old classic:
"Overall we have a very strong squad. If something exceptional turns up we will do it but having said that not everybody will strengthen. They buy, but buy does not always mean strengthen."
I would have thought he might have learnt a lesson from the impact Ozil has had.
He says the same thing every window whether we sign someone or not. He is in full-on robot mode at this time of year.
Yeah I think so. We are not close to bringing anyone in.
Our last few signings have been opportunistic so I believe him when he talks about bringing someone of quality in if a deal is plausible. If we do anything it will happen very late in the window.
Oh No - those words that send a shiver down my spine "we have Bentdner back" - please Wumger think before you speak. And then just to rub it in "We have Sonogo back" - we're in a title shootout with the likes of Aguero, Dzeko, Negrado but fear not boys we've got Bentdner & Sonogo - honestly I can only come from Wumger.
We're signing no one.
I will be surprised if we do make a signing. Strangely enough, I'm ok with that. While it is clear we need a striker, unless we can get someone who fits into long term plans, there is little point. Some advocate getting a stopgap who can do a job, but realistically how likely is it that we get the quality we'd need and who is willing to fulfill a shortterm role?
I get the feeling he's not going to sign anyone, like he said we have a number of players coming back (don't we always), we were looking for a striker last summer however but maybe he's thinking we've done pretty well without and we can wait until the summer.
We really screwed up not signing an "elite" striker in the Summer, there are next to no options available now and unfortunately I feel not signing this "elite" striker could well be our undoing.
We should have done our homework over the summer. It was always unlikely that we’d sign an elite striker this month but I feel we need better options up front even if they’re not elite. With Walcott out injured, we’re missing the sort of striker that will offer something different. Bendy is similar to Giroud in playing style and Pod isn’t an option upfront as a lone striker. His movement is poor. We’ll see what happens but I think we should be looking for a striker that’s quick and can finish.
100% dive.
