I will be surprised if we do make a signing. Strangely enough, I'm ok with that. While it is clear we need a striker, unless we can get someone who fits into long term plans, there is little point. Some advocate getting a stopgap who can do a job, but realistically how likely is it that we get the quality we'd need and who is willing to fulfill a shortterm role?
If you don’t send this signature to ten people, you will become a Spurs fan.
I get the feeling he's not going to sign anyone, like he said we have a number of players coming back (don't we always), we were looking for a striker last summer however but maybe he's thinking we've done pretty well without and we can wait until the summer.
We really screwed up not signing an "elite" striker in the Summer, there are next to no options available now and unfortunately I feel not signing this "elite" striker could well be our undoing.
We should have done our homework over the summer. It was always unlikely that we’d sign an elite striker this month but I feel we need better options up front even if they’re not elite. With Walcott out injured, we’re missing the sort of striker that will offer something different. Bendy is similar to Giroud in playing style and Pod isn’t an option upfront as a lone striker. His movement is poor. We’ll see what happens but I think we should be looking for a striker that’s quick and can finish.
NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.
100% dive.
