That would be impressive if was getting towards the end of his career.
He's what, 25?

24. 25 in June.
2-0 HT. That was very comfortable.
Adriano off, Mascherano on.
Keita booked.
This is still on the red button, the golf is overrunning.
Messi fluffs his chance. Getting a touch of the Tendulkars?
Barcelona 2-1 Granada, Mainz.
Pelanty to Granada!
Dani Alves booked.
:haha:
Barcelona 2-2 Granada, Siqueira.
:haha:
Ronaldo's bitch :haha:.
Barcelona 3-2 Granada, MESSI! He is now the all-time leading top scorer for Barcelona.
Incidentally, 'Ronaldo's bitch' is now one ahead of Ronaldo in the Pichichi.
Ronaldo's bitch .
Sanchez hauled off, Tello on.
Thiago hauled off, Iniesta on.
Cesc.
Well done, Lionel.
By accomplishing your life goals by 24, he joins a club that I am a member of.
Barcelona's all-time leading scorer.....12 dart finish....
Both difficult tasks. Not fair to compare them, really. We're just two greats on the top of our game.
What the hell Valdes? Just wiped out Gomez but no pelanty given.
Pique has been utterly shit this season. Going out with Shakira must be a huge distraction, shockingly.
What a ball from Messi. Tello takes it towards the corner flag for some reason.
Barcelona 4-2 Granada, Tello! Good finish.
Cesc.
He'll be at Roma in a couple of seasons.
Barcelona 5-2 Granada, Messi hat-trick!
For the fourth season running he has broken his year-on-year goalscoring record. 54 for the season.
Pelanty to Granada! Dani Alves sent off. :haha:
What a game.
5-3, Siquiero with the Dwight Yorke pelanty.
:haha:
:lol:Quote:
Not Seb Squillaci @SebSquillaci
Messi is out of this world. Has he scored against Stoke though? Yeah that's what I thought. Seb 1-0 Messi
5-3 FT. Great game.
Barca are just five points behind Marketing ahead of their game away to Villarreal.
Ronaldo's bitch.
Lionel Messi now has a hat-trick at the Nou Camp against Granada. He loves a hat-trick that boy. Just the 18 goals in his last seven games for the Argentine. Or 12 in the last four. The point I'm making is he has scored a lot. In not many games. He's also just overtaken Cristiano Ronaldo as top-scorer in La Liga with 54 goals.
:haha:
Messi's mental month. :scarf:
Best player ever.
Honest, too.
:wacko:Quote:
Fibbert via text: "Heres a stat: Fernando Torres (3 in 36), Andy Carroll (5 in 31) and Luis Suarez (10 in 36) have scored as many goals in a combined 103 league matches as Lionel Messi has in 7."
It won't happen because he's in his little comfort zone but it'd be great to see him move to another club. Specifically, Arsenal. But even if it was somewhere else - Italy, Germany...just to mix it up a bit. In 10 years time, he'll be looking back on his career having set unsurpassable records at Barcelona. But in a similar way to you try to compare between different decades - Tendulkar in Bradman's era and vice-versa - it'd be very interesting to see Messi play a few years in a team that is not so uniquely Iniesta-Xavi Barcelona and just dropping him at Bayern Munich or Man Utd or Milan and just seeing him play under a different style and different conditions.
I'm not sure he needs to, given he shits on most teams in the Champions League. In any case, the wish of wanting him to play elsewhere is really only for our benefit, not his.
In a practical sense, he'd only ever leave on a free transfer and Barca would never let it come to that.
He still plays for Barca in the Champions League. And of course it would not be in his best interests to leave Barcelona. At the moment it looks about as likely as seeing Bradman play today. But from a neutral football fan's point of view, I think it would be very interesting to see him in a non-Barca system. I don't suggest that he can't perform incredibly well in another country for a team that doesn't play the Barca way - but he may have to adapt or get out of his comfort zone.
At this rate, the closest we'll see to a different Messi is, maybe, 8 years down the line when his pace/agility goes and he might change to a more playmaker type of role relying on his vision more than a burst of pace/trickery. At the moment, it genuinely seems too easy for him. I guess the closest we see him challenged is when he plays for Argentina.
What a ridiculous player.
He will probably score more goals this season than most run of the mill strikers manage in their careers.
Yes he plays for Barca but that's rather glossing over the individual performances, in the most quality filled tournament there is to play in. It's a silly situation if we've to come it where playing well is effectively held against him. Yes Xavi and Iniesta have and will be a big part of this side being so good but Messi is what makes them go stratospheric.
It wouldn't be hugely interesting to see him in a non-Barca system. I don't say that glibly because there would be more exposure of him over here of course but ultimately any manager who has him from now on is going to cater to the team towards him and of course with being able to buy players that is achieved more readily than internationally. However, my point is, his back-up would not be as good as what he has at Barcelona but any coach would do their damndest to get the very most out of him and so where does that leave the debate? Would he then end up being in a comfort zone elsewhere?
The signs are there that he is starting to perform more consistently for Argentina (winners against Brazil, Switzerland, hat-trick against Venzeuela). I would say though, for Argentina, in the past, he has had to be 'Xavi' whilst at the same time trying to play like he normally does. Argentina probably have the best strikeforce of any team, club level or internationally but they don't have a 'dictating' midfielder, unless Pastore can man up I guess.
I guess we're only asking these questions of him because he is obviously is so good but to me, it's rather taking out the enjoyment of watching him play. Wherever that is.
Most strikers would be over the moon with 54 goals over two seasons. He has scored 107 in not even two seasons. :haha:
Also, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVNZN...yer_embedded#!
Still my favourite goal of his.
Can he do what Heskey does though?
Can anyone?
There is a reason why Heskey is regarded as the best defending attacker of all time

While the situation in the Middle East is clearly no laughing matter, Al Dunya TV have left internet users gobsmacked following an outrageous report that Barcelona helped anti-president Bashar Assad radicals plot arms smuggling routes through the country. Using an El Clasico clip from last December, a video report on Sunday claimed Barcelona’s formation plots specific locations on a map, with the players representing the smugglers and the ball’s position signifying the current location of weapons.
The report concludes Messi's final passes to set up Pedro’s goal against Real Madrid indicates the successful handover of the arsenal to the rebels in Dir al-Zur.

Despicable club they are. Can see this being true
Marketing.
Five of them and they can't get near him. Granted he was gun-running but that wouldn't ordinarily put Pepe off from giving someone a good seeing to.
