Warchest.
I really don't know what I would do if we signed Barry. I should probably just top myself but I would be appreciative of how dedicated Wenget is to his WUM work.
In many ways the Barry signing would be perfect:
1) Cheap
2) Has been nobody else wants
3) Can play in different positions (defence and midfield), thus saving us more money on signings for other positions in future
4) Won't hinder progress of any kids
5) Would be a way of p*ssing off the fans and sticking two fingers up at them
"Wenger said: "Suarez? As you know the transfer period demands secrets and confidentiality, so I can't answer the question."
If they blow the whole budget on Suarez they need shooting. One striker who's likely to be suspended half the season will be like going back to the bad old days of RvP. Great when he's available, stuck with Giroud when he's not. In fact even if they have £70mill to spend it's a drop in the bucket in terms of the overhaul this team needs.
Luckily then they aren't getting Suarez. Unluckily (for us) they may be getting nobody at all. So I suppose nothing can happen anyway until this Asian tour is over, unless Wenger isn't going to be involved.
I don't really see the point in going after Suarez, no way will he join us. It's just a waste of time.
Surely the board wont turn round and say, after a summer of signing nobody of note, "We tried to sign Higuain, Suarez, Rooney etc, you can't blame us for not trying". Surely they don't think the fans are that stupid to buy the bullshit??
It's a non-story. We're obviously not going to pay what Liverpool will want so there's no point even considering it. The papers are as bad as ever this summer. With social media (blogs, twitter etc.) getting so many hits, it's impacting the press - their usual bending-the-truth ways are not as interesting to the ****s that buy them, because they're more interested in fantasy stories. So in order to compete, the press have also increased their bullshit/truth ratio. As Maccy said, we'll probably be linked to a Madrid CM tomorrow just because they've bought that Sociedad kid.
This guy was on that french CDM article a few days ago, fucking hell, never heard of him
Real Madrid have signed Real Sociedad midfielder Asier Illarramendi after agreeing to meet his buyout clause of around 39m euros (£34m).
Spend some money Wenger for fuck sake.
I remember the days when players were brought before we went on tours so they could feel part of the team.
Anyone we get now is already behind the rest.
worst transfer window since all the others
Spending isn't always the answer, a great man once said:

I am always painted like a guy who refuses to spend money,
I just think I act like a responsible manager because we went through a period where we had restricted funds and I acted in a responsible way.
If needed, we want to be the best, but the best is not only about buying players.
We need to continue with what has made our strengths until now.
I just think I act like a responsible manager because we went through a period where we had restricted funds."
I have big respect for the passion about the game in England, but football is more than just splashing out.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Asia, an Asian photographer captures a priceless shot of jubilant placard bearing fans, as they line the streets for the Virtual Trophy Parade hoping to catch a glimpse of football's most coveted, prized and prestigious trophy.

Asian tits are a bit awesome, tbf.
Higuain move to Arsenal hit by fresh doubts as striker plans clear-the-air talks with Real

Guess he's not coming then. :rose:
It's dragged on forever...
Roma have supposedly offered €3m for Gervinho according to Sky Italia.
:haha: Just take it !
Wenger... £12m ... :rose:
Higgy. :rose:
Moving on with more of the "...and shit" part of the thread title then:

Brazilian reports claim Arsenal want Bernard
Maybe Higuain doesn't want to play for us and is longing it out in hope another club shows interest.
Another rumour that suits the club perfectly, he knows it's BS but won't deny it because the longer people think we're actually interested in Suarez the less pressure there is on him to talk about who we're going to sign.
It's happening all over again, just like every summer, can't believe he's survived yet another year if I'm honest. He's untouchable.
have they actually bid that amount or is just another 'reported' story?
