Yup, he was c*cking up at Hull in the Championship last season too, they didn't want him.

Our only saving grace is he's our 3rd choice keeper but as you say he's clearly not good enough, everybody can see this so why on earth does Wenger persist with him? Mannone shouldn't even be at the club.

What I don't understand is why we can't move for another quality keeper, competition breeds a higher level of performance, if other top 6 clubs have 2 very good keepers why can't we?

It's not even like quality keepers trade for that much money, we could have picked up many a decent keeper for under 10million over the past few years.

I'd be pretty chuffed if I were him; somehow he's managed to convince AW there's a PL quality footballer there - can play awful from one game to the next and still guarantee his place in next weeks starting 11. Seems a pretty sweet deal.

Honestly I don't understand the stick Mannone is getting what else could he had done in that situation, it was a good shot, was able to get his hands on it. Those things are gonna happen to every goalie, some just get lucky that balls bounces back to a teammate.

It wasn't just that, and I don't agree that incident was bad luck - it was bad goalkeeping. Every keeper knows if you can't smother it you parry it away to safety. Yep, every keeper makes mistakes from time to time but few have as poor a command of their penalty box or back four as Mannone. He's completely out of his depth. We've had years of watching crap goalkeeping interspersed by one decent run of form from Chesney. It's just boring now, it would be a lot more fun to go and buy a decent GK.

The only reason Mannone does not personally deserve stick is because there is no way in hell he should be placed in the situation where"he is in goal at a Club in the Premier League. He is way out of his depth but can hardly be blamed for being selected to play beyond his capabilities.

Wenger doesn't understand that a great keeper and make a huce difference and save yku point{. Cech has saved Chelsea some gnals this season already and look at the amount of games we've had when a keeper has played a blinder.

Can't be too hazsh thouch. Chesney is a good keeper that has done that in the past but he is out injured. But we should"have bought an experienced back up keeper.

Mannone is a poor keeper IMHO. He's absolutely not good enough for a top 4 side let alone any other PL team.

He can't catch, doesn't command his box, is a poor decision maker and at best is an adequate shot stopper.

You can see he doesn't inspire confidence to the defence.

He's a liability.

errr how about not palming a shot straight into the opposition strikers feet? holt wont score an easier goal than that.

funny thing is the ball should have been palmed away to his left where there was no danger but in true arsenal style he fucked it up and it fell straight to holt.

Im sorry but a Joe hart or a cech would have done better hit it to the side. End of the day he is not good enough and it was obvious he would make a mistake and cost us points.

Maybe if he spent more time practicing then worrying about playong for milan or not signing a new deal he'd be better off.

Like WW said shouls have brought a decent back up keeper but who is the question.

A lot of ifs...Hart let a similar shot from Ronaldo in last month. Also if Kos was there instead of Mertesacker, he'd have beaten fatty Holt to the ball. But, yes, it was a goalkeeping error - it wasn't a horrendous shot to deal with and he didn't judge it right.
