It's just the general atmosphere around the tournament, hosts going out usually means a less interesting and supported tournament. The home support is important, after all they make up the majority of the fans at that World cup.Quote:

Re Germany and South Korea / Japan, both great world cups IMO, with a special atmosphere.
I can't for the life of me understand why there's so much hate for Brazil the team who pretty much invented beautiful attacking football, I like them in the tournament I think they add something as do their fans.
This isn't the best Brazil side, nor is it the worst, if they win it it's because they'll have been the best team however.
