Results like this are what make Mourinho the genius he is, unbeatable at home, scoring a hatful and yet he manages to win!

I would say Guardiola is a genius.

Mourinho is an excellent man manager - probably the best after Ferguson in terms of inspiring his players. But I don't think he's a genius purely because his teams are built on defensive solidity.

Once Chelsea scored, City fell right into their hands.

Genius managers are people like Cryuff, Guardiola, Wenger, Valery Lobanov - managers who changed the way football is played and inspired beautiful football.

No need to say anything to the players other than give it your all out there and win!

Rock solid defences will always give you a chance. And this season, that is the rock on which our season is built.

Sorry don't agree, football is about results and winning, some of the managers you mention aren't in the same league IMO, for all his detractors time and time again he succeeds and gives team that something extra no other manager has managed.

Not really because he's not injured all the time. It when players are injured time after time season after season that they can be classed as crocks. Rosicky, Diaby, Walcott, Wilshere (appearing to be one now), Gibbs are all very injury prone

didn't see the match only the highlights, but it looks to me like the only person that feels that Chelsea didn't deserve to win was Pellegrini. I think he instigated his own downfall by playing Demichelis in midfield, but the important thing is i think it shows how fickle the Media are and how much they overhyped City. Yes they have excellent attacking players but they can't defend for shit, i think we would have got something from them if we hadn't given the ball away in midfield as much and pressed them more effectively.

I think it's more to do with the fact it's his first season back and thus the team isn't as he wants it to be, he's also lacking a striker at the moment.

Niall_Quinn

It's a double meaning. On the face of it he's saying the chavs are the little horse so he can play down expectations. The second meaning refers to us and the fact he thinks we can't jump and will fall at the big hurdles. Doesn't make any sense to call his own team the horse that can't jump when they've just come off the field having jumped all over the gypos.

The media has a priapism for Mourinho, this is not going to change he could read his wife's weekly shopping list and they'd be entranced by him

This suits Mourinho who is a clinical narcassist, and the insincerity of writing his team off as title contenders is clear, but the man would probably prefer not to win the league this season he probably regards his first few months in charge as being the hangover from his predecessor and because unlike with past instances with teams like Porto, Inter and Chelsea where he has been in control of the title race where as now they are still third despite probably being in my view slight favourites because of the favourable fixtures from now till the end of the season.

He is not comfortable with that position, he wants to be in the position where he has the arrogance to say not only with certainty that his side will win the title but even have the temerity to give you the date when his side will win it.

Absolutely delighted Chelsea put an end to this invincibility at home by City nonsense. It had to end and sooner rather than later and that's 3 precious points they've denied City which keeps them top.

Was stunned to see the Chavs no parking the bus and I thought Hazard was really good in particular.

Utter Crap - as is your grammar incidentally "he's mind, he's games" ...........maybe "he's got mind games" is grammatically correct but still horse shit

"19th century football" for example - 19th century football was a much more open game than the dire tripe Moron-iho & Chavskis will EVER serve up

"little horse"? the volume of horse shit he dumps has to come from a horse the size of the trojan horse

I read Master Splinters post facetiously footy.....but I might be mistaken.I haven't read many pages in this thread....

Fair play to Chelsea, I thought they were by far the better side last night, they had City right where they wanted them.

Title race is really interesting, if we can get through this first difficult period then I think the title race will go to the wire.

Glad that Chavs denied gypos the points, but at the cost of more Moron-iho horse shit? tough pill to swallow

I think it's more to do with the fact it's his first season back and thus the team isn't as he wants it to be, he's also lacking a striker at the moment.

hes had two full transfer windows to sort his team out, you cannot use that as an excuse. he signed eto'o in the summer and didn't sign another striker nor did he in january so he can't argue he is lacking one because he didn't try to sort it out. his comments last night were stupid. acting as if chelsea hadn't spent 300 million on their team last night, and he's been talking about city ruining football by spending. he's an arrogant prick.

Surprise! Surprise! I agree with you Ollie. I despise Mourinho.. he is a cunt and to be talking about ruining football with money, is just downright cuntish! I do agree that he is a great tactician but he is a despicable human being.

It wouldn't be too different from the Laudrop appointment, though Laudrop had more management experience.

Of course you can, he's taken over a new team, it takes time to build a team, certainly longer than half a season. Chelsea need a striker it's pretty clear (just like it's clear we need one), funny you give Wenger forever to build a team that never wins, but for other managers half a season is plenty.

LOL, the chavs have spent a decade chucking around stupid cash. They should be so far clear of everyone else by now but here they are moaning about lacking players and taking time for a manager who knows the club inside out to acclimatise. Complete joke club.

A decade and about 10 managers, each manager has his own ideas on how he wants his team to play and what players he wants

You wouldn't know context if it hit you in the face to be honest.

Like I said, complete joke of a club. A Russian gangster's plaything, as evidenced by the 10 managers in 10 years (or however many it actually is) you yourself mention. Whose fault is it if the club keeps shooting itself in the foot? And that's going to be their excuse if they lose the race, they were disadvantaged because they have been self harming? Little horse :haha:

Who's fault is it, Abramovich but then it's his club and he's ploughed millions into it so he can make the decisions he likes.

What I was saying is that the point Mourinho makes is made because he's only been there for a short period, not long enough to build the team he wants, 6 months isn't long enough to build a team so he's bound to downplay their chances.
