I wonder if he knows that it says 'Reds' in danish on his microphone (like in 'the reds'). Its an australian brand, that has nothing to do with Denmark at all or the color red, its short for rodent, with an added 'Ø' to be creative. I just find it ironic that its being used by an Arsenal fan, for his youtube show :geek:

Or maybe he does know what it means.

As above, Lewandowski will be shown up for how average he is at Bayern. Wouldn't of minded him here, but he isn't that much of an upgrade on Giroud.

Mandzukic is a far better player compared to him.

And here's more from Martin Samuel, high point is his nervous breakdown at the beginning of the article where he twists like the Mamas and the Papas trying to avoid being pelted with the inconvenient facts. Arsenal remain top, the chavs are now batting 100% against victim club city. Then he settles down to slaughtering the chavs for all their financial misdeeds while condoning the gypo's for doing even worse. Apparently having two big money bags club is good for football, whereas having only the one is a vicious plot by Platini.

I know, what an eye-opener, right? I mean who would have thought that spending close to a three quarters of a billion pounds on players would drastically improve your side's chances of winning trophies AND that that would make you happier as a fan?

Hey, maybe it's not just football clubs? Maybe incredibly rich people in general are happier than the poor? Wouldn't that be something?

Had he included analysis of league point per combined wage and transfer spend he might have had a moderately non-trivial article. That at least would have told us who was over or underperforming versus their net spend.

He should have included wages anyway because having Stoke right up there in the top four made his already facile point look shakier than it should have been.

This is all horseshit NQ. I have no doubt the establishment - and the media, really - want us to win. They just don't think we can do it, and quite frankly our own fans don't either so why should they big up our chances.

still, putting all that aside, it's clear Man City have had some incredible luck with referees. I'm not going to claim corruption but if the correct decisions were made we'd be a lot more than 2 points clear right now.

Get out of it, there's a prevailing theme and it's all about money. Money is good, greed is good, that's what they are selling and apologising for. Hardly anyone wants to talk about the type of people running these money clubs and their appalling histories. Hardly anyone wants to talk about the real effects of financial doping on the sport. Any individual who plucks up the courage to raise these issues is either ignored or submerged by popular pieces from the likes of Martin Samuel. This is the establishment protecting its own gravy train, understandable because that's what creatures of zero moral capacity do.

Regarding Arsenal, while the so-called journalists have spent a lot of time bleating about our football they have also focused far more on our lack of success rather than digging into the conditions that have made it so much more difficult to succeed now the crime clubs are in the game. Imagine if a proper journalist decided to dig into this? It's a huge story sitting in plain view and it has the potential to expose almost everyone connected with the sport. If a political figure who threatened to upset the apple cart cam along the media would be quick enough to slaughter him. When we need to go launch a war of aggression the media is only too happy to dehumanise the victims. I find it odd they have nothing of substance to say about the extremely undesirable individuals that have arrived in football. On the contrary, the media is quite happy to rubber stamp these people and will even go further by telling us how good they are for the game.

I would like to see us at the Man Utd level. A net spend of 20-30 million pounds is reasonable when you think about the ticket prices, Arsenals fan following, TV money and CL money. Sure, we cannot compete all the time with the 50-60 million quid transfers but we should be one of the names when it comes to 20-30 million quid range. Players like Costa, Higuain, Dzeko, Draxler etc come in that range.

I agree.. but I'm considering net spend really. So if we can get Suarez for 50 million (never going to happen) and get 20 million for outgoing player(s), then thats good enough for me. But to not spend a single penny, like what happened this winter transfer window, when the need was visible to every tom dick and harry, was just criminal.

Worst things about our recent slump in form is that it allows cunts like this to make stupid comments.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/feb/14/jose-mourinho-arsene-wenger-specialist-failure?CMP=twt_gu

fuck off Mourinho. Just completely disrespectful and classless as usual from him.

Asked why his rivals were insisting they were not contenders, the Arsenal manager said: "It is a fear to fail." Mourinho's response was to say of the Frenchman: "He is a specialist in failure. I'm not. So if supposing he's right and I'm afraid of failure, it's because I don't fail many times. So maybe he's right. I'm not used to failing.

"But the reality is he's a specialist because, eight years without a piece of silverware, that's failure. If I did that in Chelsea I'd leave and not come back."

Totally disrespectful. For his own sense of pride, Wenger has to win the title over Mourinho. Prove him wrong. He can’t be comfortable with this guy in background mocking him.

Typical Maureen. This is hardly the first time he's rolled around in the gutter. Wenger wasn't even talking about the chavs specifically, he was talking about all the contenders for the title. He only mentioned moneybags chavski in the context they had already won top spot so they could only lose it, whereas the top spot was there for the contenders to win. Maybe it's a language thing with Maureen. Or a mental defect. His crazed over-reactions in public aren't normal.

Liverpool recently signed a deal with Dunkin Donuts, Newcastle with Papa Johns and Man Utd have two seperate sponsers in this regard (Mamme and Mr Portato). We could probably get KFC or some Vietnamenese noodle manufacturer to chuck a few million down our way for a couple of ads involving some of the players shovelling their shite down their mouths.

- Emirates cup is on this year, Saturday August 2nd and Sunday August 3rd.

- Also there's only going to be two overseas matches next pre season ..... I'm guessing because of the WC. Hopefully this doesn't mean no lucrative money spinning overseas tour this summer. We need to squeeze as much commerical revenue as we can get to compete in the current climate.

Why do you read the Heil?

Serious question.

I don't read it - I monitor it. I don't read ANY print media shit, except articles from the very, very few real journalists you occasionally see on page 20 or 22 or 26. Fisk for example. Pilger. If I want real news I tend to go somewhere like Rolling Stone where you'll find some of the best journalists in the business tackling some of the most important news stories.

I keep an eye on what the mainstream fuckers are up to because there's always a pattern to their propaganda and garbage that gives an indicator of whatever new scam is coming from criminals such as government or the multinationals.

When the handful of bastards fucking up the whole planet for their own selfish gains eventually get put against the wall, I hope 99.9% of journalists are at the first to be served because they are supposed to have a duty to keep the citizenry informed and therefore strong and able to exercise their role in an allegedly representative system. Almost all the cunts have abandoned that duty and now do the opposite, whore for the powerful and the few. It's one of the gravest crimes of modern times yet instead of shooting the bastards most people read their shit and then base their ideas, ideals and opinions on it. This is a global cancer.

Nicklas Bendtner accused of threatening Copenhagen taxi driver in drunken rant.. on night Arsenal crashed out to Bayern

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has been accused of threatening a taxi driver and going “berserk” on a drunken night out in Copenhagen on Tuesday night.

While his Gunners teammates were in action against European champions Bayern Munich in the Champions League, the striker reportedly “ran amok” in the Danish capital’s trendy Norrebro district, allegedly threatening the taxi driver before unbuttoning his trousers and rubbing against the side of the car.

The 26-year-old also reportedly whipped the taxi with his belt and told its driver, “I will f*** you” as well as calling him a “little bitch”.

The reports, carried this morning in Danish tabloid BT, reveals that the cab driver concerned called the police about the bizarre incident, and claimed:

“I have had drunk passengers in my car for 25 years and I have never seen anything like it.”

Bendtner’s spokeswoman Elisa Lykke declined to comment when approached by BT. The player had recently claimed that his reputation as a ''psychopath'' was harming his chances of finding a new club.

No apology from Ashton yet, just a laughable attempt to try and launder his shitty article that he shat out literally moments after the final whistle. Probably will return in time to make the world cup and put in his customary two world class performances a year next season before signing a new contract at which point he'll get another long term injury. Nah, it's about time we cut our losses on the guy. I feel for him but he's in a much better position than 99% of other players who've had their careers cut early.

A new contract was probably the last thing on Ramsey’s mind considering he just signed a new deal. We have a strange way of doing things. Just offer a new deal when the current deal needs extending. Why react to form and act so defensive? Are we afraid the vultures will start circling if he continues to play like a superstar? If we’re afraid his head will be turned by one of the super clubs if they offered him mega bucks, this recent deal won’t make a difference. He’ll simply ask for a competitive pay rise of he’s that sort of player.

It's not only the fact that he is the best RB in the league, it is also the fact that he is a senior member of the squad. I believe along with Theo, he has been around the longest. You cannot just replace that by buying some promising player.

Agree. One of the reasons for our improvement this year, IMO, is keeping together the core of our best players. As good a signing as Ozil has been, and he has given us a boost despite his patchy form, it's not enough to explain this level of improvement. Have to keep that going next year and, with the right signings, build on it. Sagna is a beast, must keep him if at all possible.

Sagna wants just under £22mill over 3 years. It should go without saying that's a ludicrous demand. He's 31 years old, all we'll get for the money is a player increasingly injury prone and increasingly in decline. Spend £22mill bringing a decent, younger RB in and we'll get a much better return over a longer period. Where has loyalty got us with the players so far? Diaby on the one hand, Judas Van Persie, homesick Fabregas on the other.

It's the final pay-off of his career, unless he can wrangle a sting in the US leagues after. Fair enough, cash is his main motivation and if he can get it elsewhere then good luck to him. But I hope we aren't contemplating paying him that much. Plenty of other guys who would be willing to come here for much less and do just as good a job.

New promising youngster will not have these things:
- Experience
- Know how of how Arsenal play
- Dressing room effect
- Ability to play across the backline

Sagna, IMO has at least 1, if not two years at the top level as a RB*. He can then obviously be moved to CB where his declining pace will not have effect on the team. I for one, cannot think of a reason to spunk a lot of money on a player who is unknown and who will require bedding in period when we have a world class player at home. 22 million IMO is a great investment for that.

*- Who is to say he wont continue like how Rosicky is continuing at the later stage of his career? With how fit these players are these days, I wouldnt be surprised if he is awesome way past the 3 year deal he is looking for.

People underrate the importance of a solid wing back until you end up with players like Eboue, Clichy, Jenkinson or Santos. It's an area that can easily be exploited and cost a lot of points if you get it wrong. I see no reason for getting rid of Sagna unless Wenger has identified a key player he thinks will make a world of difference to this squad and is willing to pay the price to get him. I doubt he has and we're seeing another case of penny pinching.

We bit our nose to spite our face with the Flamini contract talks and ended up losing the best years of Flamini in exchange for possibly the worst DM option in Denilson. All to save a few quid! I want the management to think what's best for the team for once and not what's going to please shareholders.

As for Sagna, I do feel his demands (if true) are way over the top and disgusting. 6 million signing bonus and a 3 year 100k a week contract is ridicolous for someone at his age and position. However like the Rooney situation, he knows he can hold the club hostage over this matter and isn't afraid or the reprucussions of doing so. Unless Wenger already knows of a cheaper replacement who gettable and wouldn't result in a drop of quality (can't think of any tbh) accepting his terms is still a no brainer. With the title race most likely going to be as tight next year as it's becoming this year, we simply can't afford to lose points by playing a substandard defender. We have the money, let's spend it.

@NQ - I agree that the salary and transfer market has become utterly ridicolous but unfortunately it's what we have to work with.

This has nothing to do with Chelsea, City or the other super clubs that drive up wages. This is a result of our procrastination as always. We've let his contract run down and left the negotiations very late. Have we not seen this before with other players? It can't be a coincidence. Once again we have a player wondering why he hasn't been offered a new deal yet he's seen big contracts offered to Gibbs, Wilshere and Ramsey whilst he's been made to wait. Ramsey has signed two contracts in the time that Sagna has been waiting for an offer. Wenger has been weighing up whether he wants to keep him and that's the only conclusion I can draw from this situation. He's offered contracts to the young players even though there is no danger of them leaving but dragged his feet on this deal with Sagna. Even when he's finally come to the table he's offered him the same wages as he's currently on, if reports are true. 60K! He's been on those sort of wages since joining whilst new signings like Arteta, Podolski and Giroud are earning more than him even though he's been with the club longer.

This club needs to learn from past mistakes and stop rubbing players the wrong way when it's uncalled for. We've seen it with several players, including Theo and we can go as far back as Bergkamp with the rolling contract fiasco. One summer Bergkamp didn't even know if he had played his final game for Arsenal. That's pretty shabby.

Some fans are stuck in a loop when it comes to these sort of things, never learn from past mistakes and connect the dots. We culled experience from our squad way to early thinking the youth was the way only to learn that we needed the older players to guide them when things were rough. We're seeing the same sort of thing this season and your busy counting the clubs money as if we have a history of investing the money back into the squad. Around 2008, I heard the same sort of talk regarding Flamini and now the guy is back in our squad with everyone cheering him on. It's not wroth losing a valued player over this.

He's had an offer on the table for since last season hasn't he? That's what I recall. If Ramsey had decided not to sign then you couldn't say look, we are dragging our feet. Players will either accept the offer or they won't. Sagna has been saying no for a while. A negotiation is not simply accepting the demands of the other party, it's also about getting something equitable in return. It's completely fair to weight up Sagna's age in this. If we are going to pay through the nose then we'll be wanting 3 years at the top level in return. There's a high risk we won't get that and the money will be blown and an opportunity cost incurred as our options for shelling out on another RB will be limited. We need strikers, midfielders too. There's an urgent rush by many to put the blame 100% on Wenger in all these things. But I don't see it as at all unreasonable to be wary about meeting such high demands from a player approaching the end of his career. What's Wenger going to get if we cave and the Sagna fades out after a year? He'll be slated for spending a fortune on a crock.

No point building financial stability at one end and then pissing it out the other on crazy wages. I was watching Draxler last night - £38mill, you must be having a laugh. Almost as big a laugh as £20mill for a right back at the tail end of his career. Somewhere there has to be a dose of sanity injected into this if we want to finish what we started.

Are you happy for the manager to sign a new contract then for an extra £20k a week to take his wages to £155k ??Would you say that was keeping with the scummy dopers like the chavs gypos and comedy outfits??Or is that ok?

This has nothing to do with Chelsea, City or the other super clubs that drive up wages.

And that's not even in the vicinity of being true. Of course the insane wages paid by the comedy clubs have skewed the whole market. Why is Rooney on 300K? because the chavs are after him and for them money is no object. Rooney isn't worth half that in sane terms but the inflation caused by the money no object model forces other clubs to meet outrageous demands if they want to keep their team together. The comedy clubs have placed all the power in the players' hands because it's no skin of their noses if wages demands are ludicrous. Unless FFP is actually applied of course and there are a few signs it might be. Then you'll see the wages coming down. This is a last hurrah for the greedy with a bit of luck.

100% fine with that because so far the return on investment has been realised without missing a step.

You’re glossing over the points. As far as I’m aware, we offered him a new deal over the summer when he was in his last year and it was for 60k. If that’s true, that’s not even a wage increase because his last deal was 60k. That has nothing to do with other clubs or inflation.

You're saying we've let his contract run down without doing anything about it. Not true. We put an offer on the table. The player rejected it. We went low, he has gone high, that's how it works isn't it? I think he'll settle for around £90K too. I still think that's way too much for a 31 year old FB but it's what the club thinks that matters.

On one hand youve got wenger on £160k a week which is ok because he has made money in player sales and getting top 4 every year and on the other hand youve got a greedy rooney on £250k who makes the club a fortune in merchandise ,shirt sales and endorsments .He has also helped the club win a champions league ,the premiership 5 times, fifa world club and league cup twice since we last won anything..

Rooney hasnt done shit, Ferguson did all that as you can see this year. Which kind of proves the point you're trying to argue against

To be fair, Wenger has got to that wage after nearly 2 decades at the same club - if Chelsea or City ever held on to a manager for that long then I dread to think what wages they'd be demanding!

An offer on the table for the same wages he’s been on since signing speaks volumes. They’ve purposely left it to the last minute because you can see how we conduct business with younger players like Wilshere and Ramsey. If your employer gave each of your colleagues a massive wage increase but only offers you a contract extension for the same money even though you’ve been one of the top performers for years, what would you think? If the club want to lowball then Sagna is within his rights to reject a deal and look elsewhere. The club just have to ask how much his contribution to the team is worth and just like our transfer dealings, this is where Wenger gets his valuation all wrong. Priorities are backwards. Why break up the one thing that has kept us in this title race?

As far as I see it , the writing is on the wall for all to see. If the club (Wenger) wanted Sagna to stay then they wouldn't have offered him the same wages as his last contract which in essence is less, given inflation. I can only see that Wenger thinks he can do better either by pushing an incapable Jenkinson, too early or buying cheaper elsewhere. I still can't understand the concept of the manager getting paid more than the players. That is like the chief engineer getting paid more than the drivers in an FI team. The longevity argument also doesn't wash as Fergus on never got paid more than his stars even though we can easily see he contributed as much if not more than them

This is not a defence of Sagna but I can see it from his point of view when sideways Arteta is on 80 and all he does is huff about the place. He would be better off elsewhere, Tragedy is he will likely be replaced by someone much inferior. I can't see Wenger paying the 20 it will take to get Coleman from Everton

We had a bif rejectecd for that Athletico Madird RB last summer (Juan Fran ??) so it seems we've been looking at alternatives already.

Gonzalo Arroyo Moreno No regrets: Juanfran turned down the Gunners Juanfran, the Atletico Madrid defender, says he rejected a lucrative offer from Arsenal over the summer.

The 28-year-old has confirmed that Arsene Wenger was keen to bring him to the Premier League, as we reported in August.

But the right-back insists he is happy at his current club, despite seemingly having the opportunity to increase his wages.

And with four years left on his contract at the Vicente Calderon, the Spanish international doesn't appear likely to make a move to the Emirates or elsewhere soon.

"It is true that I had an offer from Arsenal that any player would have liked to have accepted," Juanfran said to www.marca.com.

"But I am very happy here.

"For me, as everyone knows, there is no better club than Atletico."

Juanfran has scored three goals in 94 appearances since joining from Osasuna in January 2011

100k per week is closer to exorbitant than fair, IMO, but sometimes a little flexibility has to be applied.

Anything over that, as some rags have reported (highly untrue then), and he instantly has to be seen as another Must Get Rid mercenary who needs to fuck off elsewhere.

Yeah, a mercenary that stuck by us through our shit years
