We've known nothing of the kind, simply that there were accusations
Printable View
One accuser ? You’re right we simply don’t know
Multiple accusers ? Even if he’s acquitted in court, it’s most likely that he’s not been found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt not that he’s innocent.
The law has a high threshold for conviction and that’s rightly the case. But again what’s more likely that three seperate women are all lying about the same footballer or that Partey has a different understanding of the word No than the rest of us
So to appeal to your autistic sensitivities, I’ll change my statement and say we knew for three years that he was likely a sex fiend
It’s Bluesky, what exactly were you expecting. It’s like me saying I’m shocked that you have a bluesky account
Although if one was inclined to mischief and claimed one of Partey’s accusers had said “Transwomen are men” they’d quickly change their tune and say they deserved to be raped. There’s nothing more important to those people than the rights of balding perverts in dresses, wigs and poorly applied makeup
There’s accuracy when it comes to command of facts and there’s spelling and grammar pedantry. What was the correction the other day? “If it’s legal to marry someone of 13 in certain countries than technically it’s not rape”. Because a 13 year old girl is definitely consenting to sex with a much older man, also in most of these countries rape isn’t recognised within marriage because a man has sexual rights to his wife. But if he forces himself on his wife, what are we to call it mr accuracy and fairness (two biggest self attributed misnomers I’ve come across)
Bit of a one trick pony with this “spend your whole life on a message board” thing, as I said to you a couple of weeks ago I’m
More than happy to break down the events of my life if you’re concerned for my welfare.
Well, there's also a lot of kickback on there (not from me, I just read it) saying the club's done nothing wrong, innocent until proven guilty etc, so 'lol' yourself
Just because there's not as much hate on there (though human nature being what it is, i suspect it's only a matter of time) doesn't mean it's one-sided
Bias has nothing to do with it, it’s applying probability. Saying that because there are multiple accusers make it more likely that he is guilty than that there is a malicious campaign against him isn’t controversial.
You understand there’s a difference between assessing guilt from a legal standpoint and forming a view on culpability based on likelihood. Or maybe you don’t?
It’s not unreasonable to conclude that it’s more likely that he’s a rapist than not. That doesn’t amount to a certainty, but it’s like seeing overcast skies and saying it’s likely it will rain
My facile understanding of Bluesky is where all the screaming lefties and liberals went after Musk bought Twitter
So essentially you have two places, one that is an echo chamber of wokeness and one that is an echo chamber of right wing to far right nonsense (outright racism, conspiracy theory and soft support for authoritarianism over democracy)
Twitter is pretty revolting at times, I just imagine bluesky matches it but in shrillness and piety replacing hatred of people with different colour skin, women and a neo trad Christianity
first of all one big difference is there's not the angry language and insults, so it's more civilised (though that doesn't mean people don't get a bit sarcy or testy at times)
obvs what you see will be dictated by who you follow - I'm mainly only following Arsenal people - i admit most of the bloggers/pod people are fairly right-on but as i said the ones who have said the club shouldn't have played Partey have had a degree of kickback from those who see it the same way as I do (that the club should have continued to play him but not offered him a contract extension)
elsewhere i'm sure a lot of the political stuff is centre-left and if you want 'woke' - although for me 90% of what's classified as 'woke' actually just means 'considerate' - the other 10% is mainly where some people have taken what equality etc means a bit too far - e.g. on trans
but as i say the main thing is there's a distinct lack of nastiness, so it's a fairly benign space IMO and acts an info point without all the crap
bloody hell...

Just seen some highlights of the game v AC Milan - we looked lively with lots of players having a go at goal, Saka's goal wasn't the tidiest but a great cross from Kiwior - Nwaneri looking good, apparently the best player in the first half - Nelson also looking lively and even if our plan is only to sell it can't hurt
So this is interesting:
"Arsenal Women will take part in the alcohol fan choice pilot for the 2025-26 WSL season for games at Emirates Stadium. The Gunners are due to play all 11 of their WSL home games at the Emirates and, as part of a trial rolling out across selected clubs in the top two tiers of women’s football, supporters will be allowed to drink alcohol in their seats in selected areas of the stadium.
Consuming alcohol in full view of the pitch has been outlawed at football games in the UK since 1985, initially this was designed to stem the flow of crowd violence endemic at football matches during this period. The WSL2 took part in a limited trial for fans to be able to take alcoholic beverages to their seats last season and now the pilot is being extended to more teams in the top two divisions.
This only applies to WSL games at Emirates Stadium and, per Arsenal’s announcement, ‘In this initial trial phase, alcohol consumption will be limited to specific areas of Emirates Stadium up to around 20,000 seats, with other areas remaining alcohol-free. These areas will be clearly signposted to supporters when purchasing tickets.’
Arsenal also say, ‘Our involvement in the pilot comes with the support of representatives of our organised supporter groups, and approval from the Arsenal Safety Advisory Group…Supporters who have already purchased season tickets or six-game ticket bundles will soon receive additional information via email, including instructions for supporters who now wish to move into or out of one of the areas included in the pilot.’"
I wonder how that will go - without wanting to stereotype, maybe most current attendees at women's games would be civilised enough, but introducing alcohol anywhere pretty much gaurantees there will be some morons to mess it all up.

Would be fine for the family orientated crowd the women’s game attracts but for men’s football it’s almost guaranteed to end with increased arrest figures I’d say.
Wenger

(and, to a lesser extent, me  )
Partey joining Villareal on a 2-year deal - be funny if he played for them against us this week, will our fans start singing "she said no"...?

This will sound terribly sexist but what’s the point, what’s the point of putting yourself through a high intensity laborious lifestyle and getting paid all that money if that’s what you’re going to settle for.
I hear all this she’s his childhood sweetheart and all that stuff, but there are two perks from being a footballer a) driving ridiculously expensive cars and b) getting to fuck the calibre of girl that being a non footballer would never afford you the luxury of.
It’s sad, wasting the best years of his life on a chubby plain Jane who poses for pictures in her Pajama bottoms
From what I read of the charges, Partey's main issue is that he has an infatuation with sodomy, and more accurately sodomy when least expected.
I'm pretty sure if he didn't feel the need to date wannabe models and wags and went after plain Janes, he definitely would have found one happy enough to please those fantasies of his without angling to make a career or payday out of it later.
At least that's the way it use to be in my younger days.
Careful guys or Letters will be implementing ID checks to protect kids to prove you are allowed to speak about this sort of stuff ;)
Tbf I never really expect sodomy
Also we can infer from this that Mrs Letter’s given name is not Peggy
So Tony Adams it seems doesn’t rate Arteta highly, on one hand he wasn’t especially a great manager himself and that’s putting it mildly. On the other hand, the guy was captain for 14 years and this idea that leadership is fundamentally different now than it was in his day feels like bullshit to me.
He knows Odegaard isn’t a leader on the pitch, where as Rice is, despite what is taken as unreasonable criticism by myself that he’s not an 8….his work rate, the fact that games where he has been poor are few and far between and his body language and actions on the pitch show this. Odegaard might be a nice guy and might be a good guy to have around the dressing room, but we had Rob Holding as a mascot we don’t need another one
And to anyone who thinks in reverse ferreting on Rice, think again. I wouldn’t have signed him, he’s not quick or technical enough for me (even with the two worldy free kicks he scored) and he’s definitely not a quick enough at passing or enough of a dribbler to pull defenders out of position when a low block is being set up. The double pivot with Zubimendi should prove interesting, but I’m yet to be convinced that it will undo obdurate teams (though i would definitely play them both on Sunday)
Saw this earlier and it's definitely no news that Odegaard is pretty average captain material.
While Rice would make a far better captain than Odegaard, I'd still rate Gabi ahead of him.
Its funny though a minute ago I was watching this video on youtube on some of our altercations and its so obvious how bad a leader Odegaard is as he only starts popping up halfway through the video, while it's the same usual suspects protecting and diffusing tension every time.

Dunno about Gabriel, he’s often too easily provoked….that and to be honest there are times when he’s not a great communicator. I know Portuguese and Spanish are different languages, but especially in Raya’s first season there was often little understanding between the two and that wasn’t all on Raya.
He’s a very good defender who takes pride in what he does, he also is very good at helping Saliba out. So best to leave him to what he’s good at
On a Spursy note.....
Did anyone switch off the TV at 80 minutes last night?
I only turned it back on when my son sent a text saying it was 1-2.
I was already preparing my "It was only a friendly game" speech and hey presto! It went all Spursy for them :haha:
I was so bloody relieved. I could not have faced the same shit just a couple of months after the Europa League final.
