Still an odd one though.
Its hard to think he wouldn't improve our team. I guess there's a reason no big teams went for him, but given where he's ended up it surely can't be about crazy wage demands.

Players like Sneijder are the kind of quality players we need, we'll never see them come in whilst Wenger is around though, for now we'll have to settle for second rate dross.
Sneijder is not what he was but miles better than any of our cms.
The turkish league is peniless and is run by the mafia. Most have owners who are directly or indirectly involved with organised crime. The league is shit, the money is all direty laundered drug money, they are paying top wages but who the fcuk would want to play in that backward league, most of the games are fixed, Snjedier is a mercenary and will go to the highest bidder regardless. I mean what the effing ell is Dogba and Anelka doing in the Chineese league? It's all corrupt.
No thanksQuote:
Arsenal are weighing up a last-minute move for 23-year-old Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa. Newcastle have already agreed a fee with Montpellier for the France international.

Arsenal have been offered 26-year-old Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff on loan as the French club look to offload his £80,000 a week wages.

He's a bit shit now
I am not sure about what people's records are like, I am sure we have all had a few shockers along the way (BTW I am still in therapy for my Gervinho is good phase, hope the drugs help!
But TBF Tiote is a bit crap and I dont think we should be in for him, Diame doesnt inspire either but I will be honest, I have seen very little of him, both Wigan and West Wums games are a rarity over here.
Its is a no brainer who we should be in for and that is Felliani! News got out what is release clause is and we should pay that to get thinks rolling. The guy can help out everywhere and is exactly what we need.
The usual reaction to such comments is 'we will never pay that much' or 'forget it nobody is getting bought' and this is where my frustration begins abd my patience starts to wane.
In my opinion Wenger has know trapped himself in his own web.
Do we really want him to spend what money we have, when we are not 100% confident he has the ability to pick out, talent or attract anyone of note?
Especially when most hope to see a new guy in charge come next season. . .
But what of this season? Are we to leave the squad to wade through the neck high cess pool we find ourselves in. . .not far from our 4th place goal but no where near good enough to feel confident it is a cert. . .
If the answer is 'no' then it means we need to buy, how Wenger doesnt think we need to is beyond me. . .it cant possibly think, that we have enough pieces. . .one recognised striker, Giroud, Walcott should still be considered a converted winger and Pods a converted striker. An unreplaced Song is one of Wengers worst crimes thus far and our defence is rocky at best.
. I do expect Wenger to act as I always do and he always lets me down but you cannot compare our inactivity to that of say UTD or Citeh because they have enough and are double figures ahead of us in the league.
Sure we are in the black, but we are mismanaged in almost every other area
i agree Felainni is exactly what is needed. instant impact signing, bosses games in the prem on both ends of the pitch...not a Wenger type signing though so it wont be happening.
So the Gourcuff rumours are flying around at present. , .loan deal which soinds right up Wumgers rue. . .coupled with Wanyama (must be a bit of Jap in there) a la Daily Mail. . .gotta be bullshit cos same paper says RPQs interest in Malouda is a SHOCK. . .how can it be a shock, they would buy Flavs given the chance!
I didn't know Wanyama's middle name was Mugabe.
Hasn't Gourcuff been a little bit shit since he left Bordeaux? I suppose he ticks the boxes if Wenget wants to bring someone in though.
taking it all into account? honestly, i wouldn't take him. i don't want wenger spending a single penny more because it will become a waste. we'll lay our hopes into a player like fellaini, then slowly realise that the player we saw at everton will not turn up every week for us - which is down to the manager. it may sound churlish but new signings under our current manager offer change very very little.
Newcastle have had a bid rejected for Yoan Gouffran.
I think Graham Carr is the Crooknapp of Ligue 1.
Little bit ray of hope for bw10?
mirror.co.uk Yanga-Mbiwa etc
And do not forget:
And IMO we desperately need to strengthen the defensive right holding centre midback position.Quote:
Yanga-Mbiwa, 23, is highly rated in France and can play right back, centre back and also operate as a holding midfielder.
Was Yanga-Mbiwa any good against us? If he didn't rape us then he's a bit shit seeing as we're very shit.
He was very good IIRC, their stand out player. There wasn't anything desperate about his defending, seemed to be a very clean tackler and read the game well.
Of course he'd be awful here so it's probably for the best we passed on him.
http://gossip.ladyarse.com/arsenal/2...o-betis-move/?
Could this suggest that we are getting in a DM??? If these reports had any truth to them whatsoever, it would be the only sensible reason.
Great move that would be. . .
so we sell Song. . .stick Arteta in an unnatural position only to see him forced out for a few weeks with an injury. . .Diaby is just about breathing but judging by Sundays performance it is only with the aid of a respirator and now we consider loaning out Coq
And the answer is bring in one? Some teams are exploding with options. . .us? We'd rather see if we can get by on less than the bear minimum. . .rock on!
Linked with Maarten Stekelenburg today.
Good player, but not a priority.
no doubt cheapish! as you said not a priority.....need to be linked with midfielders, at least one striker and ahh yeah.....someone for the defence.....you can pick the order
Me too, I like him, I think he's looked pretty decent in the few games he has played this season.
I dunno...you never know with Arsene, maybe he's thinking that Diaby and Ramsey who is certainly one of his "pet projects" will be kicking on come the latter part of the season. Arsene clearly sees those two as important squad players, well in Diaby's case an important first team player, Arsene's words.
With those two about and the current first choice boys I don't think Coq will get anywhere near the team especially now we have to play catch up.
I'd say a keeper is right up there as a priority. Szez not cutting out the errors and has no competition or back up.
Also his kicking is prob the worst of any keeper in the prem and it doesn't seem to be improving. A real shame...as he has a lot going for him.
Zaha is off to United it seems.

FOOTBALL
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger tells the club's Twitter feed that the current squad care as much about the team as legends such as Thierry Henry and Tony Adams. "These players care as much [as the likes of Adams, Henry], maybe even more."
Really? arshavin? bendtner? santos? denilson? always give 110%, never give up, never admit defeat....oh that made me chuckle. Arsene Wenger you are one deluded football manager.
