if essien came to us he'd be a beast player and by far one of the most influential players in our team.

A shame that he only started to play well for the first time in 5 years just recently. Was really optimistic about him , especially when he scored those 2 goals against USA in the World Cup. I wouldn't mind if he were to leave and we were able to get a decent enough replacement. But then again he does seem to be fine with sitting on the bench picking up his wages so I guess he's a decent enough squad player.
Kagawa to Man Utd is official now, subject to a medical and work permit.
he's had injuries and managers have needed instant results so haven't had the time to bed him back into the team. he made 5 appearances in the last 14 games, that gives him no chance of recapturing his old form. ask any player what the number one rule is when you come back from a serious injury and they'd say game time. at chelsea he was given none. if he was at the emirates wenger would give him the time and faith to build his fitness back up which would see his form return too.
Again, having flamini back :haha:
Fucking bollocks and any other colourful language you want to add. . .SAF shopping early like last year Jones and Young.
But I'm prepared to move on. . .lets go for Allfellay. . .no doubt will be disappointed again. . .ripe for a bid from the Scum or Barcodes
Do not forget there is a waiting period to observe.
Van Persie is observing his.
We need , a keeper, CB, Dm and at least 2 Am, since we all should agree that Arshavin is a bust and Rosicky, can/should be replaced. not to mention the ghost of the footballer formerly known as Diaby who sometimes haunts the old place. We also need 2 strikers Park and Chamack exist in name only.
This is not a campaign to get Flamini back, some of us are just pointing out that he cannot be any worse than Rosicky is now AND is 3-4 years younger. Plus our reticence to spend. IF we have to go the cheap option, He and Afellay are obvious candidates.
In case no one else has noted. there seems to be little real association of our club with any decent targets. we are just hoping to stir up a little action.
I would like us to get Handanovic too as I think our keeper needs a challenge. those howlers in our last 3 games should not be overlooked, granted that he may have been carrying an injury.
Ghanaian Robbie Savage
i dont see how you can make a judgement like that based on the lack of games he's played. as i said, you need game time to build up fitness and recuperate any strength in your legs. he hasn't been given that. sitting on the bench wont help his knee get any better but rehabiliation alongside game time will. essien needs a club that has the patience to embed him back into the team but unfortunately for him he's at a club only interested in short term success, so will never get that. van persie had a malleolar injury in 08/09 (same one he had earlier in his career) and people thought that would be the end of him mainly because of the severity of that type of injury. most people need a screw fitted into the ankle but luckily rvp didn't. we could have given up on him but we didn't, the rest is history.
In other news , Anelka may go to the Spuds this summer.
http://www.teamtalk.com/papertalk/77...o-chase-Anelka
Talks for a new deal for Arteta, WTF he only signed last summer and for 4 years I don't see why we should renegotiate, he's 30 now as well. He took a pay cut to come, don't see why he should get a rise now when we've still own f*ck all.
We really have amateurs in charge when it comes to contracts, we should be focussed on RVP and signing new players not paying someone who signed for 4 years last season and who's 30 more money.

Meanwhile, Kagawa Completes transfer to united.

Their clothes horse is better than our clothes horse. We're letting a shirt sales gap develop.
Kagawa would have done more than sell shirts
his old form is gone. He has had 3 knee surgeries the last 3 seasons. He is slow on the tackle and has been injury prone himself. If you havent watched him play the last two years, you need to stop talking about "Essien walking in and improving our side" because he is looking like a finished fooballer.
Flamini was an inferior version of that and also had a bad knee injury.
Yeah right, also bricks, clothes pegs and blood diamonds
The guy would have been a very decent signing but once again we flirt with interest. . .go in and then pull out again like a bottleless vitgin, too frightened to get his nuts wet. . .
This more than anything pisses me off. . .how many players will we show interest in, and not do anything. . .the list is getting longer, MVila, Giourd, Allfellay. . .cant wait to see who we miss out on this year

Athletic Bilbao star Fernando Llorente has hinted at a future move to the Premier League.
The Spain striker revealed ex-Liverpool players Fernando Torres and Xabi Alonso have highly recommended English clubs because of their passionate fans.
Llorente told reporters: “I might end up playing in England, who knows? At the moment I'm at Athletic Bilbao, but who knows later.
“Xabi Alonso and Fernando Torres have told me about the immense respect that the fans have for their players there.”
The Spaniard, who is currently with Spain’s Euro 2012 squad preparing for the nation’s first match on Sunday, has long been linked with a move to Tottenham.
Reports towards the end of May suggested Spurs’ north London rivals Arsenal are also keen on the Bilbao forward.
Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Juventus are four more teams rumoured to be keen on a player capped 20 times for his country heading into the Euros.
FL week is going strong
Yes he did, but that was the deal to join and he agreed, he signed a 4 year deal. He played ok but with 3 years left on his contract I'd tell him to swivel for it, we're not a charity and he signed a deal and at 30 he's not exactly marketable.
Might seem harsh, but we've been screwed over by players enough times, time to get tough with these contracts, had we been we might not have some unproven nobodies on small fortunes.
The clubs priorities are all messed up. We've got players that are going into their final contract year. What the hell is this?
Coz realistically, papa Wenger aint gonna sign anybody! Yes, I would rather we signed Hazard but you realistically think we were ever in the hunt to sign a player of his calibre?! Really? No, think again.. its Arsene penny pinching Wenger.. With the prick we have as manager, we have to look at players who are cheap and not being looked at by other clubs. Flamini suits us just perfectly.
You must understand you know, Man City have distorted the free market; while they are running on petrol we are running on semen, so it is difficult you know. We can't spend £100M on Messi.
Dont know why I bothered reading through the last few pages, only makes me sad.
TBH nothing will happen till 31st August will it, thats our time to shine, masters of mopping up cack players.
If only someone saw this tournament coming.
Seriously though, extending Van Persie's contract last year was not quite the no brainer it appears now.
And as for Theo, before February this year, the Club would have been nuts to offer him a new contract, especially given his inflated opinion of his own worth. Even now, I don't care if Theo ends up elsewhere.
How can that be, if it's a clause it's automatic there's nothing to sort out. I doubt it was a clause, he wants more money and with 3 years left on his contract, I'd tell him he can't have one at this stage.
He's 30 anyway so how many years has he got left? As for a good job, he did OK but we won nothing so I don't see why anyone should be rewarded, RVP being the exception due to the amount of goals he scored and the fact his contract is running down.
We've been rewarding too many players too often when we've achieved nothing in 7 years, now we're stuck with a number of them on big money noone wants, we never learn.
