Twitter is just a system, so who precisely is reporting this. As you should know until you see the picture of the new signings grinning like squaddies in a brothel with Arsene placing an avuncular arm around their shoulders, the deal ain't done.
the goon blog, young guns blog etc etc are all tweeting about it. you should ask @Kaiser as he is the person who retweets them all so thats where i read them from
Have to disagree with that comment - Tiote was one of the genius signings of the season. 3.5million for a true DM who is hard as nails and positionally sound. Excellent, excellent player and an amazing first season in the prem from the dutch league. He would be the last player Newcastle Utd would sell and I can understand why.
“Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.” Dennis Bergkamp
"I started clapping myself until I realized that i was sunderland's manager". Peter Reid
"Happy those, who can remain at Highbury." Jane Austen, Emma
i dunno how neutrals can comment with so much conviction about players that have only had one year in the prem. all its based on is highlights and one or two live matches.
Early doors yet but with Gervinho and possibly a CB coming in, plus some exits that we already know of, it looks like we could be doing some smart business this summer. Out with the old in with the new etc..
I would've preferred Cahill to Samba tbh. Samba's height and strength would definitely be welcome, and he'd definitely improve our defending at set pieces, but he's still susceptible to being dragged out of position and passing football. I know that it's imperative we sort out our "soft centre", but I think Cahill is a more all round defender, who will both address our Achilles’ heel which is defending aerial bombardments and be comfortable defending against other styles as well.
Some way to go yet, but the initial signs are that Gazidis/Wenger are doing what they said they would do and making significant changes to the team.
Still some way to go yet but the runes are good -we will know soon enough, I reckon well before August. I'd like to see him do it in the next few weeks, not just because we will know, but because we can have a stable team training up together before the start of August - especially in the defence area.
I'm not sure if Gervinho is going to play up top or take Bendtner's wide role, but I still feel as though we need a striker, it's not going to happen I know but Falcao or Benzema would be awesome.
Make it happen, Arsene.
