The problem with Charlie Average is he thinks he is Xavi.
Adam in the first half of the season was actually OK; I think he was involved in more of our goals (all 4 of them) than anyone else. But since then he has been utterly dreadful. Didn't want him in the first place, then tried to rationalise it (set pieces, decent left foot), then it sorta worked for a while, and now he wouldn't get into the reserves. Downing has been OK when he runs at the defence, but you could probably count the number of times he's done that using your hands.

No one outside of our defence has played to a consistent level which is why it was inevitable what would happen yesterday.

The two of them lack real quality. Looking at stats when they're a big fish in a small pond doesn't really help, but I think that formed most of Liverpool's rationale for signing them. Adam's set-pieces aren't much cop. Drowning really showed his peak level at Villa. It was truly inexcusable spending that much money on a known quantity 27 year old with little scope for improvement. You would take a more optimistic view of Liverpool's signings if a guy with genuine ability and room for improvement was bought instead. Even considering the Carroll buy.

Big fish thing aside, I don't get how there can be such a dramatic difference, even with the simple thing like making a 5 yard pass or taking a corner.

But yes, hopefully it's a bit of a wake up for transfer policy.

Where is Maxi Rodriguez, Ngibbles? Can't remember if he was a sub yesterday. He would be a fairly good step forward.

He was, for the first time in ages I think

It is an odd one; maybe there's something behind the scenes; Kenny did mention certain players' attitudes weren't right. But he is one of the most inconsistent players ever, much like Yossi. He does seem to be one of the few on Suarez's wavelength though.

That's what I mean. I can't say I've seen many of his Liverpool games, but he is definitely a smart player. I don't see Downing shitting out a quality hat-trick like he did against Fulham (?). I would have thought for next season a more imaginative transfer policy would be needed, though.

Hate games like this, they fray the nerves. We were shit and didnt deserve a point but as we won i have to say

    Scummerpool

£35mil for Andy Carroll who gets 3 minutes at the end? Sloth couldn't hit a Kardashian ass with a Ashley Banjo tbf and Suarez seems to have some bizarre condition whereby he feels pain in his shins no matter where he gets kicked??

We couldnt defend, couldnt pass, couldnt attack, the midfield were awful, we had no work ethic, no closing down or tracking back, the wide players were woeful, the substitutions were too late, aside from Diaby who made us far better when he came on and when he went off

But we won...again? God only know how much RvP should be worth now

Again I actually thought we defended ok. It wasn't brilliant by any means but it was enough to see out a win.

We could've lost by 4 or 5 if it wasn't for some competent defending.

Really? I thought it was the goalies long arms and the thickness of a post that stopped it being a route

Ther were plenty of other chances that we stopped from being turned into goals too.

They had 13 corners that were all dealt with, not just by sir Chesney either.
