Rubbish, Parker is a quality player, anyone denying that simply needs to pay him more attention when watching him play, his defensive positioning is fantastic, constantly hustling players, doing everything the old fashioned DM should do. That said, we have Song, who has developed in to something much more than just a DM, and indeed a better all-round player than Parker imo, but whilst Jack has been out I think this has contributed to our defensive frailties whereby Song, as our only real defensive minded player has started to push forward more, it leaves us a lot of the times in bad situations i.e. when a team breaks.
The reason we didn't sign him was because Wenger had no idea that Wilshere would be out for the whole fucking season, if he did, I suspect we might well have tried to get him in. But meh, who knows.
We need competition for places. He'd have provided that as well as being quality. Right now all we have is Song and um thats it. If he dies then we have no one.
I understand Parker being a Spuds player means we have to think hes shit blah blah blah but i grew out of all of that years ago
Considering the position we were in in August, the purchase of Parker would have made sense. Sonf has more scope perhaps but Parker is a very able player IMO. . .but we missed him and he is a Spud now, so I dont really care
