Sounds about right. He was a great player in his day but I'm not convinced he is that good a manager. When he managed Liverpool before, he was taking over a team which had been top of the league - Europe even - for many years under other managers so he did have some momentum in place. If he'd started stone cold with a relatively average Liverpool like now, I wonder if he would have had success in his last spell as manager.

That's true but he did bring in quite a few players as well to refresh the squad; Houghton, Barnes, Beardsley, Aldridge, McMahon for example and came in after our (comparatively) worst season for a good decade. It's still impressive to stay at the top though and we've seen countless times that just having a good team doesn't necessarily equal success.

well whoever made the signings had a shocker.

whether it's kenny focusing too much on the domestic market even though the foreign markets have proved more effective for english teams, he definetly would have had a say in who they bought in.

and he's terribly backwards in terms of handling the media; whether you love them or hate them you need to be able to handle the media nowadays because it's become an integral part of modern footballisation. his attitude stinks and his arrogrance breeds hatred. and lets not even start on the suarez issue.

Dead right. His handling of the media is piss-poor. He hasn't kept up with a number of aspects of being a PL manager in the modern game.

Terry was pretty much the reason we won the game at Stamford Bridge. And besides, he's garbage these days. The only Chelsea player I want missing is Mata. But we'll take them quite easily in any case.
