Someone on here mentioned this guy before :
ARSENAL are in talks with Argentine midfielder Lucas Biglia — but face stiff competition from Real Madrid.

“Real Madrid and Arsenal have both been in contact and I’ll wait to see what happens.
By judging by the comments on this youtube video, we've had over 100 scouts look at him for us for 5 months

When Nasri left no, Adebayor on the other hand was a moneygrabber, he's only ever been interested in money, but I'm happy he left.
He still only signed last season for 4 years, he was happy with what he earnt, sure he was decent but he was hardly a real stand out performer like RVP which big clubs will be after.
He's 30, what is he going to do leave? There isn't another top club that will touch him, if he left he'd only be leaving to go to a smaller club...might sound harsh but I think pay rises should be earnt over a longer period and unless you're clearly going to attract interest from other clubs should only come into play if you win something or your contract is nearing it's end.
Truth be told, I think it's a clause in his contract and that's why he's getting a pay rise. It's probably why he agreed to the pay cut in the first place. I thought it was a bit cheeky of us to ask for him to take a pay cut anyway. But it's really worrying that we had such a clause in place, don't you think? Is the the plan if we don't make CL football? Offering lowers wages to signings? How about cutting out the dross we have in the current squad?

Anyone else aware of any other 'top' club that is so shit at contract/transfer negotiations? Gazidis is a donkey.
I am not too sure whether its about priorities being messed up, more getting out the way what can be done. RvP Theo are not around to be part of any contract talks so the club is forced to wait for their return (which will probably include a holiday the players choose to take after the Euros)
It is no doubt easy to get Artetas biz out the way now, seems it is an activated clause so fairly straight forward and no doubt falls within any budget set aside. In fact it probably does not affect any plan the club has with regards to RvP or Thei, we can only hope it is a good enough plan (for RvP anyhow, Theo for me has yet to show he deserves special treatment, akthough I do not advertise his departure without guarantees of a replacement.
As I said he could sell what the fuck he wanted. . .vitrgins into slavery for all I care. . .the guy has ability and would have been a good signing for us. . .but now will be one for Utd. . .course we cant buy everyone. . .the fact we buy no-one can sometimes make me fidget in my seat
I can't help but think Biglia is a bit too similar to Song. He doesn't just defend he also wants to attack as well, I think M'Vila is more what we need.
