That's exactly what it was. Unfortunate.

He was consistently good last season, that's all I care about. He's not flawless but no 'keeper is. If he has a similar season next year I won't be complaining, if he keeps having brainfarts like that that is of more concern but I think he's earned some benefit of the doubt after last year.

Had he not screwed up I reckon Poland would have 3 points in the bag, especially after the shocking refereeing decision in the 1st half.

The Poles weren't excellent, the Greeks were tragic. They just linked arms and built a wall and the Poles thumped the ball off them for 45 minutes. There was no pressure on the Polish defence at all, Ches wasn't in the game. Then the Greeks came out of their trenches in the second half. Yes, Ches really fucked up when he was called on. But where was the Polish defence? If you look at the goal and the penalty the defence is all over the place. Somebody said these are the two worst teams in the tournament and that's probably right. Neither will get through unless the other two fuck up big time. Poles reminded me a bit of us - they had so many chances to ice the game that Ches' fuck-ups shouldn't have really mattered. But they blew it against one of the worst international outfits I have ever witnessed. That Samaras guy! They were playing with 10 before their man got sent off.

Its worrying that in a game where Chesney had to do f all, he couldnt keep his concentration.

His complacency was an issue throughout last season.

We need a keeper either to come in as number one or someone who can challenge Chesney cos Almunia whos gone now and Fabianski are terrible

Yep, he had an awful season. Worst keeper in the PL by some distance. It seemed like he just didn't want to be at the club and this was reflected in his lack of passion and effort.

Wouldnt say awful but he wasnt as good as he was made out to be.

In a rating of 10, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest, he'd get a 6
