lol...i see what u mean tho. unless u had followed marseille as they progressed thru the uefa cup u would prob not have known who drogba was. then dude went to chelsea and the sky was the limit. i am very hopeful that OG does well, he just seems to be different to chamakh, personality wise, work ethic wise etc.

I must tell you. This is an exceptional signing - I think he will have a bigger impact than Poldibhai.

Two very good signings in attack now in the bag. If Robin doesn't sign now, he was taking the piss all along. But I think he will sign...he'll have taken Arsenal to the cleaners first though. But who cares about that. Lets run a car boot sale, see what we get for Arshavin, Bendtner, Vela etc. and lets spend it all on a monster DM. If Wilshere remains deceased, play AOC at ACM and let him just run and players and see what he can do with no fear.

I believe this is the start of a beautiful 2nd place finish. But we'll see.

    Chez
    Sagna Kos Verm Gibbo
    Wilshere Song Arteta

    Van Persie
    Giroud Poldi

Walcott, Chambo, Rosicky on the bench, quality on the bench, with gerv having his second season. Theres no width having all three playing, but atleast we can give van persie a free role and relieve him of all the pressure, i still believe RVP can still shine, giving giroud a chance up top and poldolski roaming off him and dominiting the left side of the team.

Fari , we will soon be laughing with Joy . Podolski is class .Giroud is a monster . He is intelligent and tends to attack every single ball . What will change is all the chances we create will have finally somebody to try to put them away . I can't pretend he will score all . But what was frustrating in our game was we can create loads of chance but when the ball comes in front of the opposite goal no one of our players to be seen . Olivier is not shy to test the keeper of giving any defender a game .He is strong and powerful .
Personally , I'm excited as I have seen many of his games .Ver promising . Up the Arse .
DO NOT POSTPONE TODAY'S DUTY FOR TOMORROW .IT MAY BE TOO LATE .

i agree with the positive sentiments in this thread and most of all enjoy the fact thay we're buying players with a winning mentality. for years our teams have always had this mental block when it has come to the bread and butter stage of the season, usually around easter time when we are always knocked out of cup competitions, or towards the end of the season in the league when our team goes AWOL and throws away stupid points. i put this down to the players having a weak mentality and fearing to cross the finish line. what we've done in the transfer market so far is attempt to alleviate that block by signing players that have been there and done it; podolski has been at euro finals and played a major part for germany on the international stage, whilst giroud has won the league title in france with an outstanding goals tally to go with it.

hopefully we won't see these players pussy foot around at the crucial stage in the season, like mr nasri done in the carling cup final for example. ive got a good feeling about giroud so lets wait and see.

Arsenal's new striker Olivier Giroud has stated that the French connection at the club played a large part in his decision to sign for them this summer.

Giroud made four substitute appearances for France at Euro 2012 and scored 21 goals in Ligue 1 last term as he helped Montpellier to the title ahead of the likes of PSG, Lyon and Bordeaux. The 25 year-old admitted that the prospect of playing alongside some familiar faces meant as much to him as the style of play that the Gunners use.

"I chose Arsenal because they have the French touch," Giroud told TF1.

"There are a lot of French [players here], they have a particular philosophy and command respect."

Arsene Wenger sanctioned the £15m move to end a long transfer pursuit, but Giroud has confessed that his mind was made up to join the Gunners even before Euro 2012 started - although he didn't rule out a move back to Montpellier in the future.

"I had already made my decision at the end of the season before the Euros.

"Many people accounted for me to Montpellier. This may be a goodbye, who knows what the future holds?"

He made his debut for the French international side just last year and has since gone on to make nine appearances for his country, scoring once against Germany in a friendly in February. Despite struggling to start a game for Les Bleus during this summer's Euros, he maintains that the future is bright for French football.

"I lived the Euro from the bench, it was a little frustrating, but it makes me want to come back and grab game time.

"The image of the France [team] may be better, but we have already made progress.

"It is still not perfect, but we will work on it. We have a bright future. With time, we'll get to do beautiful things with these guys."

Sagna is the only half decent Frenchi we have. Giroud joined the wrong French revolution. Should have been with us 10 years ago. Now that was some team with Frenchies
