    It's relevant when this type of performance (by Federer himself and by the opponents who are no longer intimidated by him) become a regular occurrence. A few years ago, you would still have seen the occasional player going for it against the top guys. Rosol and Bennetau aren't exactly the first guys ever to try it. But Federer would have snuffed them out. Now, because of a combination of the factors I mentioned, he's under threat far more often. It's not that he's lost it, it's just small accumulating factors which mean he's simply not as dominant as he was able to be in the past.

    Well that would make sense if he still wasn't at the very least making Grand Slam QFs all the time. Winning by just about coming through it is still winning.
