So Giroud is a great signing despite only having played in the French league and only having performed for one season, but Dempsey is sh*t despite having scored plenty of goals in a tougher league?Good good.

Now I'm hoping Giroud turns out great, but Dempsey has proved himself and is quality.
Unfortunately we can't.
If he can chip in with 10 goals for the next few seasons then great, but I won't be popping the champagne.
If he signs obviously, if he doesn't then I don't care.
Im not going to WUM it like Ach but I think Dempsey is liked because he is decent and has a nose for goal which the midfield lacks. Sure he was the main man for an average team but he scored more than a fair share and that is impressive. He aldo is cheap, right up Arsenals street which shows how most have become used to our ways.
To be fair (@LDG) he puts me in tje mind of Arteta who I know you like, and will blend into the more balanced approach we seemed to show more of last term. My only concern is he is 29 but by no means finished. He is not a wonder buy but a good one and I'd say nice call by the club if its true

Dempsey has just had his best season ever. It's unlikely he'll repeat it and I doubt he'll be that cheap.
