In an ideal world we'd be looking to sign younger, top notch wingers but realistically since that's not going to happen settling for someone who's done it in the league we play in and who can provide goals is good enough.

STEVEN NZONZI is set to become a Blackburn outcast after handing in a transfer request.

SunSport revealed last week how the French midfielder was left at home as Rovers headed to Austria for training.

And boss Steve Kean confirmed he is planning for life without the £10million-rated ace.

Arsenal and Chelsea watched Nzonzi, 23, last year and Sunderland are keen.

Kean said: “Steven has asked for a transfer. We want players who want to be here so he was left at home.

“He’s made it clear he wants to play his football elsewhere so we’ll be listening to offers.

“At the moment, we are not planning to have him in the squad. He’s not taken part in any first-team sessions.”

I agree and think that Dempsey would be a clever buy. . .tbh I dont recall anyone saying he was world class just that he ticks a lot of boxes. It wasnt many moons ago thatt people where lining up to shoot project youth in the head and screaming for experience
